I will start out saying we had a nice stay with our friends. There was plenty of room to cook and eat, we served 16 people on the night we arrived. Since there was no one leaving the day we arrived, Craig was nice enough to allow us to go in early.
Communication was an issue early. We never received the code for the front door. Neither Craig nor his wife answered my calls or texts asking for the code. A problem since we had groceries in the car. A neighbor eventually called Craig for us and he answered her call, so we finally got the code.
I was expecting a single family dwelling based on the 'Awesome House' description, but in reality this is a duplex with a shared deck. Which turned out okay since no-one was staying in the other side. The deck was unusable, it was dirty and in need of power washing. The pictures of the deck show the deck, but in the morning. The afternoon sun is brutal that it was not an enticing place to hang out.
There were two pads for parking 4 cars and we used all the space. Again we were fortunate no one was staying in the other side. The driveway was too steep (17 degrees) to really park on. We tried using the garage, but with all the stuff in the garage there was only one usable space. Parking in the middle was an issue as you couldn't use the door to get, it opened just enough to hit the garage door opener. Only parked in the garage once, because of the inconvience and it was so filthy.
The overall cleanliness was not up to my standards. Besides the garage and the deck, there was a used razor in the shower of the upstairs bathroom and he curtains in the back upstairs bedroom were stained. The overall appearance of the property was diminished because the gutters were full of leaves and tree debris.
We rented this property for 8 adults. The bunk room has room to sleep 4, and would be great for kids, but as an adult I didn't enjoy sleeping there. Two different couples slept in the other upstairs bedroom and both complained about the comfort of the bed. The table had seating for 8, but when we arrived there were only 6 chairs. I found two more in the garage full of cobwebs and spider nests. One chair wobbled and the other had a broken slat on the back. We cleaned the chairs and I duct taped the slat so we could seat 8.
We did not have a boat so I can't comment on the dock.
