"My great grandfather was born in the very small town of Aquara and, in planning our trip from the USA to Italy, we were looking for a peaceful, welcoming spot to stay while we paid a short visit to the city. The staff was terrifically accommodating and the property was beautiful. There is a restaurant, small bar and pool on site as well as short walking trail, hammocks and, since they are up on a hill, beautiful views of the valley below Aquara. "

"It seemed like the owners was surprised by us really coming, although we booked a few months in advance. No warm welcome, just a small buena Sierra, no smile, no wifi code. Room was good with a great view, but all the shared facilities looked like they didn't expect and want any guests. Chairs and tables on top of each other, construction in the front including noises. "Staying at La Terrazza was a great choice. The room was comfortable and warm (we had a couple of coolish nights), the bathroom was clean, the shower had lots of hot water and wonderful pressure and the kitchen had everything would we have liked to cook. The breakfast was great with the star being the home made apple cake with home grown apples and free range eggs from Pino's chickens. Pino is a great host, proving tips to where to eat and what to do in the area. I would certainly recommend his...

"Friendly welcome, fresh & clean accommodation with spacious grounds and amazing views. Great base for visiting the Certosa. Make sure you have good travel instructions ... it could be hard to find!"

"The bad: Our first issue happened at check-in. We booked and paid for (months in advance) a double room (separate bed rooms) and ended up only one choice - a small single room with only one (squeaking and uncomfortable) bed. There was no air conditioning, no fan and there was rising damp in the walls. The shower curtain was disgusting with mould. The pillows smelt damp and disgusting, and the room was humid and hot and smelt like mildew. Every night we were woken up by the farm dogs barking and...
