Coveside - 3 bed 2 bath Oceanview in Surry, Maine near Acadia Natl Park

Beautiful vacation property in Surry, Maine overlooking the ocean on Patten Bay with elevated views from a large deck. Enjoy your morning coffee watching seals, eagles, and deer along with natures other wonders on 4 private, wooded acres with 335' of ocean frontage. The house offers first floor living with two bedrooms downstairs, one with a queen bed and another with twin beds, on the first floor. There is a pak-n-play available for a child. On the first floor is a laundry center with a washer/dryer and a full bath. Upstairs is a sizable master suite with king sized bed with full bath and sitting area. Open concept living with lots of light. Fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar includes dishwasher and microwave and a separate dining room that seats 8.

There is a game room with a foosball table and card table along with games and puzzles in a finished basement room, creating another private area to work or play. All linens/towels, basic pantry items and starter paper products are supplied. Internet with Wi-Fi and HULU TV are available.

This property is conveniently located near the Village of Surry, and it is 15 miles from shopping and restaurants in Ellsworth or Blue Hill and 30 miles (about 45 minutes) from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Need a lobster? Perry's Lobster Shack is just a few miles down Newbury Neck where you will find Maine's treat fresh off the boat! Lovely Carrying Place Beach is also just a few miles away on the Union Bay with incredible views of Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain.

For the comfort of all our guests, this is a non-smoking vacation rental and pets are not accepted.

Please note it is a steep, narrow path for access to the oceanfront on the property. Now taking reservations for next season.

Nice well-stocked home

Perfect Maine Getaway

Cheri was responsive and allowed us to check in early after driving overnight to get here, which was so appreciated. The property is gorgeous and the private beach/pathway felt so serene. Very clean inside, perfect amount of space for a small or large group. Easy to find & close to all things Acadia. Highly recommend this stay!

Great place to stay!

4 senior female friends that have spent one weekend a year together for over 25 years…hiking, biking , even back packing when we were younger….got together for our first WEEK long trip ( now retired) and it was the perfect place to stay! A beautiful area. , lots of active, but senior friendly, things to do and enjoy. We will return!

Coveside Home

This home had everything we needed to make our family vacation great! Close to Bar Harbor and "touristy" shopping, close to wonderful hikes, but far enough away to enjoy some quiet time sitting on the deck with beautiful views! Lots of games; accessories for young children and toddlers; and the layout was perfect. Kitchen was well stocked. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Coveside

Our first time to Maine and Coveside was perfect for our family Beautiful setting. Comfortable accommodations and a very well equipped kitchen With 2 towns within 7 miles and a lobster shack down the road, we were set! Acadia and Bar Harbor being about a 40 minute drive Can recommend this property

Great house, quiet

Family of 6 adults stayed for a week. So comfortable, so easy. About a 45 minute ride to Acadia. Town of Ellsworth had any supplies we needed (or didn’t!). Our own private paradise. Book it!

Wonderful location

Our stay at The Cove was just what we wanted. The house was very clean and well stocked- my grandson especially liked the Foosball table in the downstairs game room! Loved going into Bar Harbor and walking the trails in Acadia National Park- about a 35 minute drive. But we also loved the town of Ellsworth which is just 10 minutes away. We spent 3 different days there. Be sure to do the candlepin bowling at D'Amanda's! You'll love the house and the location.

Fabulous find!

Everything about our stay was wonderful! We loved the location, and the views--especially at the bottom of the two trails down to the water. The house itself was so clean and welcoming--and even had a fun welcome giftbag that was provided. The kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms were all generous in size, delightful in feel, especially the upstairs accommodations where we felt pampered! We enjoyed using the game room with provided games, and ate our breakfasts out on the balcony. Delightful!

Beautiful, clean and serene!!!

This is a beautiful home in a serene setting. Extremely well maintained and clean. Check-in was super easy and communication was excellent! This home has all the amenities you could possibly need. It was just a short drive to many Maine attractions such as Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Baxter State Park, Portland, etc. We will definitely be back! Perfect waterfront spot

The house was exactly as described and absolutely spotless when we arrived. We had everything we needed including extra towels and blankets. The property is gorgeous and we loved having water access. The kids loved the game room downstairs. We drove into Acadia National Park most days and it was an easy drive to and from. Nearby Ellsworth is a cute town and we found everything we needed.

Hidden Gem - August 2023

Coveside did not disappoint our family of five. We felt right at home. It was clean, updated, well maintained, and stocked full of everything you need in a home kitchen. The beds were comfortable and hotel linens and towels were high quality. Beach towels and chairs are also provided. The furniture was clean and taken care of. The gas grill was a Weber. Even though there is only one A/C unit located in the upstairs main bedroom, there are plently of fans throughout the cottage to keep the home comfortable. This home offered a tranquil setting right on the water yet tucked in the trees. It was a welcome place to relax after exploring Ellsworth and Acadia National Park. Thank you for your hospitality!

Comfortable and Relaxing; Feels remote but isn't

We had a lovely, relaxing time. The property feels far away, but is local to Surry and only 15 minutes away from Ellsworth, so very convenient. The house is comfortable and well appointed, has a view down into the woods with glimpses of the water. The hill down to the shore is indeed very steep; we did not go down to the water, but ventured down to the tree where the rope is tied to assist climbers up and down; younger, fitter people could manage this. The kitchen is a decent size and was supplied with basic spices, coffee and sugar. The notebook of local information was helpful. Newly renovated master bath is very well done and heated floors a treat. Our only issue was that the upstairs master bedroom television had no local reception, could not "find" any channels and was unuseable to us. Family room television had some television access via Hulu, so husband could watch some football. Overall, we very much enjoyed the property and it would work well for a family.

A beautiful home. Great space and true to the pictures. There was a yellow jacket nest in between the deck floor boards. I contacted the number listed and it was taken care of in a timely manner.

The house was in a good location for us to go different directions each day and stay out of the tourist congestion. Easy drive to Acadia etc. the house was great it had everything we needed and was very comfortable for relaxing at the end of the day.

We had a wonderful stay at Coveside in Surry. The house was clean and well stocked with all we needed. The large dining table was a great place to eat meals as well as play games and work puzzles. Both the den and the deck were great places to gather and relax. There was a nice game room downstairs, but we didn't use it much because we stayed busy sightseeing in the area. The house is about 35-45 minutes from Acadia National Park and we visited the park several times while we were there. We also enjoyed the towns of Blue Hill and Ellsworth. We would definitely recommend staying at Coveside!

Our stay at Coveside

We had a great stay at Coveside and were happy with the accommodations and cleanliness of the property! The patio furniture was a bit dirty but easy to clean off and use. The path down to the water was also overgrown, but overall it was a great experience and would recommend.

Another great stay !!

This was our second time visiting Coveside and it is just as we remembered! The house and property are beautiful. The place was spotless when we checked in and everything is so comfortable and well laid out. We had fantastic weather and spent a lot of time on the deck admiring the view. Cheri is a great host and Coveside is definitely a keeper!
