Key deer came right up to us!
Bit of a drive but if you have a car and some time it’s worth it.
Very small freshwater lake with 2 alligators and not much else to see. Did not see much wildlife except for some circling Turkey Vultures.
Needs work from huricane Erma.
Go early in the morning or at dusk. The deer nap in the afternoon, especially if it is warm out. Don't make our mistake (and many others from the posts we read), the Visitors Center is in the Winn Dixie plaza, NOT in the Winn Dixie grocery store. In fact it is directly across the plaza from the Winn Dixie.
