I chose this hotel for the price ($160+) and its close proximity to the airport for a 6am flight. Basically a place to sleep. OMG. We were put on the 3rd floor (no elevator) in a room that smelled like urine. I opened the windows but they had no screens (plenty of cobwebs). The halls all smelled like pot. Moldy disgusting pink bathtub. No shower for me! The room door itself was warped. Took 2 of us to get it opened, especially from the inside! The bed was not comfortable, but the sheets were cleaned.

The worst part of our overnight stay was when we were leaving. We opened the door and on the bottom of the door there was a cockroach crawling up the door. The odor was very unpleasant when we entered the building but our room appeared to be fairly clean but not where it should have been. Otherwise it was quiet and the staff was nice and helpful. There wasn't anyone at the front desk or I would have brought this to their attention.

The staff was great but the shower kept overfilling with dirty water. The bathroom door never closed and the hot tub/pool closed at 10pm. I appreciate that it is family owned but it needs a face lift

I picked Anchorage Inn based off the reviews and it seeming like a safe property for a solo traveler. Check-in was fast. It was nice having the room prepaid for but I think it was more that it would be harder to get any refunds this way. The room was large but it was very worn down. The AC didn't work. The bathroom was dirty and small. There were stains on the wall. The tub wasn't dirty per sei but it felt dirty. The bed was hard when I first sat on it but was surprisingly comfortable to sleep on at night. There weren't many amenities but there was shampoo and a bar of soap. There was only one washcloth. There could have been more. The door didn't feel very secure but it was fine. The walls were thin and you could hear others very easily. The most unsafe feeling was that there was a homeless man living in the back corner of the parking lot. He had a toiled and oven back there. I didn't feel very safe being a solo traveler and having a dog that needed a late night potty break. We made sure to go out right before sundown. I was also worried about my vehicle but thankfully it was not tampered with through the night. This was an okay stay for the price and for one night but I was glad to get checkout early the next morning.

The hotel has a lot of potential but it’s very old and quite dirty. Heavy mildew/mold smell and dirty blankets. Across the street at the Target the parking lot grass had a pile of dirty needles and panhandlers on the corners

Nothing unique. It’s an older hotel with no apparent recent renovations meaning the carpet is old, the walls need painting and the room itself is dated, particularly the bathroom. In our room there were two accessible outlets. The one over the sink was broke leaving the outlet behind the bed as the only working one. The safe also did not work. On the positive side the bed was comfortable, the AC worked and the staff was friendly. I probably wouldn’t return however because for what I paid there are more modern hotels close by.

The room was neat and clean, when I entered the room there was an overpowering smell of carpet treatment. I have a sensitivity to smells, and this was too much for me. I can not speak to all the amenities as I was there with a family member for hospital treatment. It is about a two minute drive to UVM Medical Center.

Our cab driver said, “that place is rough” after picking us up at the airport. We could not get into the lobby without a key or ringing the doorbell. We were let in promptly by a very nice front desk person, she was efficient and professional. Upon entering our room, we were greeted with a stained rug and stained ceiling tiles. Air conditioner worked well. The window was screwed shut because the lick was broken. The toilet seat was round and the toilet was elongated. The bathroom seemed clean but there were stains on the caulk and the bathroom door. Bed linens were sparse, top and bottom sheet with comforter and we found hair on our sheets when we removed the comforter.

It's an old property but they are trying to keep it clean. Carpets could be changed and the advertisement is a bit misleading as no breakfast is provided but only coffee and snacks - you only get what you pay for and not bad for a nights stay 😀.

A minute you walk in the door you see dirty carpet of the stairs. The room was old and dated. Stains on the quilt. One quilt had an iron burn mark. There was no ice bucket, coffee, machine, water,. Only one plug for three beds. One lamp for three beds. The furniture was old and broken in some places. The carpet was awful and I did not wanna walk on it. There was a couch that had a big stain on it and one of the cushions were upside down and backwards. The staff was extremely helpful and professional and refunded my money so that I could go down the street to the Hilton and had a great stay. For the same amount of money, it was not the staff’s fault. It was whoever owns. The building is not keeping it up and there was questionable people outside sitting under trees. I did not feel safe there.

This is not a 5-star hotel, but it has a lot of character, and it is an excellent place to stay for basic shopping. You can pop over to Target for some new PJs, say, and then pick up a gourmet meal at the City Market grocery store as well as some world-class snacks from Trader Joe's. The rooms have a microwave, so your food options are not terrible. It isn't too far from downtown. Walkable or bike-able if you are into that, or buses going downtown pass on the road in front of the hotel. Facilities could use some upgrading for sure - I did feel a bit of a sad/creepy vibe emanating from my brown and tan, large-flowered bedspread, and someone needs to re-attach the smoke alarm in room 203, thanks. However, the facilities were completely clean, the towels were utterly fine, and the free soap smelled good. There is a decent indoor pool as well as some nice picnic tables and a little gazebo on a swatch of grass behind the inn where you can eat, drink, smoke, or just hang out and chat with other fellow travellers. Last but not least, the staff were helpful, friendly, and authentic. Three cheers for the Anchorage Inn!
