"The residence is in a quiet peaceful location reached via a windy hillly road. In the 4 nights we stayed in early September, we saw, from the large windows of our rooms, clear views of the hills and mountain, starry nights, misty cloudy views and even a lightening show. "Overall the property is in a great location and it is clean. We had access to the spa but did not use it as we were only in Chamonix for 2 days. We booked the hotel through Hotels.com and I feel the hotel treats Hotels.com clients differently than those who book directly through the hotel. I requested to have onsite parking twice and never received a response. When we were past the cancellation date I received an email from the hotel giving me options for services by the hotel. I once again contacted them regarding parking and was told there were no spots available (6 weeks after my original request). Also after we booked our room, I received a message from the hotel stating that the room category that I booked did not provide any views…only a room facing other rooms and they gave me the option to upgrade. Our room with a balcony was fine…no need to upgrade. When we checked in we were asked if we had made reservations for dinner(which we had not)…they made it seem like their restaurants were the only options…not true. You are close to so many options for food. The cleaning staff are very noisy in the morning so if you want to sleep past 9 am forget it. Overall the hotel is good. It’s the services and staff that were an annoyance…we just felt like 2nd class citizens because we booked through a third party ."

"We loved our stay. The room and all facilities, including the spa, were clean. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We only had the breakfast one day, but it was great, lots of choice and not bad value given the prices in Chamonix. We absolutely loved being able to nip down to the spa every evening and relax following active days. We loved the balconies with gorgeous views. The location was great. We parked in the public parking next door and walked to everything during our stay. We would definitely stay again."

"Aucune climatisation, la chaleur dans la chambre insupportable, tu ouvres la fenêtre et le bruit est constant, car le chemin principal de Chamonix est à 20 mètres des petits balcons. Je donne un 3/5 pour la petitesse de la chambre, aucun espace pour les valises. Pour le prix payé jamais pu pour nous. L’hôtel est très proche du téléphérique de l’Aiguille du midi."

"As a fan of Freddie, a stay at The Freddie Mercury when in Montreux is a must. It's campy, and fun and you can't not smile in the public areas. As a rather fussy hotel guest, I had no real issues. There isn't air conditioning, but there is some air circulation. The rooms are basic, but how much time do you plan on spending in there? The bed is super comfortable, the breakfast is reasonable for the price (on demand omelettes and lots of variety). It was clean enough, though there is some wear starting to show. The staff was very helpful. Most of all, the location is amazing and on the train station platform (you can hear the trains from your room if you're on that side, but it's a soft/gentle woosh every now and then). I'm so glad I stayed there. Thank you!"

The location is excellent—just a short walk from the town centre and with easy access to the slopes, making it the perfect base for exploring the area. The hotel has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, with great facilities and a lively atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. What really made our stay special was the staff. Every member of the team was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our visit. They always went out of their way to assist with any questions or requests and made us feel genuinely valued as guests. Now that we have stayed at this hotel in Chamonix we wouldnt go to another one and would highly recommend La Folie Douce to anyone visiting Chamonix."
