Misrepresented. This is a 2 star hotel charging 4/5 star prices.
We booked Room 305 with 2 queen beds for our family of 4 with a “partial ocean view” (POV) for July 28/29, 2026, for a total of $871.
We are not from the area so we relied on the images of the room / hotel to get a sense of what we were purchasing. Further, The Crest Hotel and The Prestige Hotel did not have availability for July 29.
On check-in, we opened the door to the room we were entirely let down. While the room loosely resembled the online images, significant creative license was taken.
The POV was of the roof on the building. On my tip toes on the balcony (I’m 6’5”) I could see water (I think). The tv was smaller than a laptop screen. The recent uneven paint was evident throughout the room. The bathroom smelled like someone had just used it. Lipstick on a pig.
We had dinner off property and parked a block away (there is only street parking). When we looked around a little more there were smear marks on the wooden headboard from poor cleaning. Breakfast (630-9) in the “restaurant” had very little food (eggs and yogurt were gone).
The keys had to be re-keyed twice and no housekeeping ever turned the beds. I complained to the desk about the state of the room being misrepresented was told “they agree” and I should have said something earlier so they could have moved us to the other side of the hotel for an actual POV, and gave me $100 refund.
So $771 for a room worth $175 max.
