"Great communications with the host. Wonderful old hacienda, well situated for us to walk to the main square, markets etc. Although it sits on a main street, the layout with the patio around the pool was a cool peaceful retreat "

We liked the property and the privacy there. The service people are very friendly, The food is good but could be a bit more fancy. The quality of the offeredtea ( tea bags of the simplest) would have to be improved. Please compare the offer of other 5 stars hotels in the world.

Hacienda Santa Rosa will forever live in my memory as one of the most magical places I've stayed. Despite being managed by a hotel chain, it hasn't lost its patina and authenticity. It is more beautiful in person than in the pictures. I loved our tranquil room with sky-high ceilings, lovely tile work, and a view of a garden outside our window. Because there are only a few guest rooms, the staff spoiled us with attention and kindness--I've never been treated so well before. We were delighted with...

We chose Merida Santiago Hotel Boutique based on overwhelmingly positive reviews. We were very satisfied. From the moment we arrived tired and hungry, co-owner Jan arranged for us to have a light meal, even though the kitchen was closing down, and then provided us with a thorough inspection of our room. The lovely couple who own the hotel, Jan and Rita, were friendly and gracious hosts. In fact, the entire staff was welcoming and helpful. We started each day with a delicious (included) breakfast...

Our suite was spotless, beautifully designed and decorated. The bed was very comfortable as well as the sofa. The flowers and tropical trees were so pretty, and the restaurant attached, Teya, had delicious food and friendly staff. I cannot recommend this hotel more. Lots of food and shopping in walking distance. This hotel is beautiful inside and out!

We were in Merida for eight days and we LOVED this hotel! It was small, well-kept and very clean. The staff was extremely helpful. The location was perfect about 6 blocks north of the Plaza. Down the street from the hotel was the Negrita Cantina; a must-visit place. We'll definitely be staying at Koox Casa de las Palomas again on our next visit!

The hotel appears to be a converted mansion built in the 1920's - 1930's if I were to guess. So, basically it is like having your own mansion with plenty of courteous and helpful staff for the price of a hotel room. The breakfast was great(fresh squeezed natural orange juice). I did not realize they served dinner, but upon returning to the hotel late Sunday evening with a sick child, we asked if they had someone who could deliver us something versus going out for dinner. Their hamburgers,...

We loved Merida and Luz en Yucantan hotel. Our party of four utilized three different rooms over four nights. The room La Puesta del Sol room was noisy at night due to music from the park a block away even on week nights. Both La Perla and La Sombra rooms faced the pool and were quiet at night. The former had a large patio in front with table and chairs. All beds were comfortable, showers had hot water and the breakfasts were delectable. We were served coffee, a small pastry, juice, a bowl of...

We love this hotel!! Although we visit Merida frequently, this is the first time staying at Casa Tavera. We found the place to be a beautiful boutique hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was splendid with an amazingly comfortable bed. The pool was very inviting and the daily breakfast was delicious (try their horchata!). Casa Tavera will definitely be our hotel of choice on our future visits to Merida. Thank you to management and staff for a wonderful stay!

The room was clean and organized. Water and soda included with check in. Also free coffee and water downstairs. The room is big, the bathroom is also, breakfast was well worth it with made to order eggs/omelettes. It’s on the outskirts of the center of town but the walking wasn’t terrible. Blow dryer in the room overheats and it turns off for about ten minutes at a time so make sure to wash your hair and have time to dry it. Other than that, everything went well. I’d be back. Didn’t get to use...

Overall it was a very comfortable stay in my basic room. The property manager was very attentive and prompt with any inquiries and/ or needs. The cleaning staff were also very courteous. The house had a nice easy feel to it and it was located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Perhaps, it was the time of year (holidays) that most residents could have been away as the streets around the area were a bit deserted and dark at night for walking alone. Several different shops and food were walking...

Beautiful, well decorated room with high ceilings!! A huge window that leads out to a private balcony with small table and chairs. Room was on the 2nd floor. The bed was super comfortable and had handcrafted pillow cases and runners. The bathroom had high ceilings, beautiful lighting and best smelling lotion. Rain shower with a sweet smelling conditioner I fell in love with. Front desk people were super friendly and helpful. There is someone at the desk 24/7. Love pool and hammocks. Walking...

There was nothing to complain about this hotel. The rooms are really big, spacious and comfortable, well lit and clean. And despite the heat of Merida we never suffered. I think it is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. A lot better than bigger name hotels in the city. And the staff was really helpful and attentive. All in all the best stay I’ve had
