8.8/10 Excellent! (1,000 reviews)
I am not sure how this hotel has the amount of positive reviews that it has. Perhaps we caught them at the wrong time with the worst rooms. We booked two rooms for four nights. Upon check in I realized that the hotel lobby was dirty and somewhat old, but I hoped the rooms would be an improvement. Folks, the rooms were not an improvement. The rooms were so dirty that my 10 year old noticed. My 10 year old does not have a high bar for cleanliness, whatsoever, so that’s saying something. Specifically, the carpet is old and nasty and definitely wasn’t vacuumed before we got there. One room had a previous customer’s Bobby pin laying on the floor, as well as baby fingernail clippings on the keurig. The bathrooms were both nasty- hair on the floor and shower, mildew/dirt clumped together on the sink, mildew on the shower curtains. Just nasty. We decided to leave a day early because it felt so gross and because work began early in the morning to replace the roof of the hotel and it was very loud. At checkout an older, attractive Black woman employee asked me why we were leaving early. I told her how dirty the rooms were and she apologized and asked why we didn’t ask for a different room. It never occurred to me to ask for different rooms because I assumed if both of our rooms were dirty and the lobby was dirty, all of the rooms were probably dirty. She said that she would authorize the refund when Hotels.com contacted her. We were refunded the money, which I definitely appreciate.
