Holiday Rental Specialists are pleased to present Dunkarein which is ideal for couples and families, located in the beachside village of Currarong surrounded by the Jervis Bay Marine Park.

Upstairs is a light and airy open plan kitchen and living area with combustion fireplace, one bedroom and bathroom whilst separate downstairs accommodation has another two bedrooms, living area and laundry / bathroom.

Walk out from the open plan living area onto a great size deck where you can relax and enjoy both mornings and afternoons lazing around with family and friends enjoying a late breakfast or evening meal on the BBQ.

It is only a short 5 minute walk to the water's edge and to the shop to pick up the morning paper or Zacs Seafood Restaurant for a scrumptious meal. The local tennis courts and skate park are also only a short walk away.

It's the simple things that make Currarong so special, taking a bottle of wine and a cheese platter to the grassy foreshore to watch the sun go down after a day of swimming, fishing, dolphin and whale watching or exploring. Or take the short drive to the southern side of Beecroft Peninsular to see Point Perpendicular, Honeymoon Bay and Target Beach.

Please note that there is no internal access between the two floors, there is an external staircase leading down the side of the house.

Linen:
All linen (sheets and bath towels) is supplied for your stay and included in the tariff. For the comfort of our guests, we do not triple-sheet. All beds have a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and a quilt with a full cover. BYO linen for the complimentary travel cot. BYO beach towels.

Property Specific Notes:
Enough wood will be supplied for the fireplace/slow combustion wood heater for the first two nights. After that, guests must purchase top-up wood and kindling from the local petrol stations at their own cost.

Pets are NOT permitted at this property.

Wi-fi is offered as a complimentary extra. As there is no charge, issues will be dealt with Asap but cannot be guaranteed.

To ensure the comfort of our guests and the neighbours, we do not accept bookings for "Schoolies" breaks/under 21yrs groups and under no circumstances do we allow weddings or parties of any sort.  

Notes
Code of Conduct: Payment for the booking warrants you and all guests staying will abide by the Code of Conduct for Short Term Rental Accommodation which can be viewed under the Guest Information tab on our website or a link which will be sent to you in your booking confirmation email.

Noise at Properties: NSW Planning has passed laws that affect guests. The Code of Conduct for holiday renting can be found on our website under the Guest Information tab. In Section 2.5.2 of the STR Code of Conduct, guests have an obligation to ensure the peace and comfort of neighbours and other occupants of the premises (if strata) near holiday rental properties. This means guests have to be very mindful of noise made in or outside the property that can disrupt neighbours at any time of the day. If you or any other guest receives a warning regarding excess noise or excess guests, you may be asked to leave the property immediately with no refund of monies. Noise audible outside the property is prohibited.

Privacy: This property is a holiday rental, it is not a principal place of residence and there are no shared rooms. Enjoy your time in comfort and privacy.
Terms and Conditions: Detailed T&Cs apply for this property and payment warrants your agreement and that of all other guests staying at the property with you. Please share the T&Cs with your other guests.

Check-in and -out Times: During the busy months of December and January, the check-in time is 4 pm to facilitate peak back-to-back changeovers. Our standard check-in time is 3 pm and check-out time is 10 am. We offer a complimentary early check-in or late check-out time as a gesture of goodwill where booking and housekeeping schedules allow. Note that due to demand and housekeeping pressures, no early check-ins or late check-outs will be granted during the months of December and January. The safest way to secure an early check-in or later check-out is to book the property for an extra night. Contact us for a special rate for this extra night. All Sunday late check outs must be requested and approved prior to 5 pm on the Friday evening prior. All complimentary early check-ins or late check-outs must be confirmed in writing so that our housekeeping team are informed accordingly.

Guest Registration: Guest registration is mandatory for all bookings and replaces the need for a cash bond for short term bookings (up to 20 nights). It is essential for fraud prevention, damage claims, safety, and emergency purposes. The process varies depending on the online travel agent used. Direct bookings require the booker to upload a copy of their driver’s licence and credit card through our encrypted online process.

Additional Guests: The guest limits apply at all times during the booking. Any extra guests (this includes day visitors) above those that have been booked and paid for must be approved in writing prior to the stay. Only the guests staying at the property are permitted to be present. If you wish to have visitors in addition to booked guests, you must advise us in writing prior to your stay and ensure you receive written permission. This is not possible at all properties.

No Extras: This property is approved for accommodation only. No mattresses, tents, caravans or more cars than the property accommodates are allowed. Under no circumstances are the following activities permitted at any of our properties: motorbikes, dirt bikes, quad bikes, use of firearms or air rifles, fireworks.

EV Charging: For safety reasons and to comply with insurance requirements, guests are prohibited from charging electric vehicles at any property that does not have a dedicated EV charging station. Charging electric vehicles without proper infrastructure poses a fire hazard, and in the unfortunate event of an incident, insurance cover may be compromised, and the guest held liable. If in doubt, ask our team for the closest EV charging station.

Long Stay Discounts: Out of peak season stays of a week or more may qualify for a discount, please send us a message.

Property Information: Information during your stay can be found in the Guest Information Folder or by calling our office 24/7.

Security Deposit: For most bookings, completion of our registration process and a valid credit card with a $1000 available limit is sufficient for the security deposit. For medium-term bookings (21-40 nights) and long-term bookings (41-90 nights), a non-negotiable cash security deposit is required. This deposit, held in our Trust Account, is refunded after the departure inspection, with any damage or loss deducted. The minimum cash deposit is $2000, with higher amounts for larger or more expensive properties, or at the owner’s/agent’s discretion.

Peace of Mind: For your added security, this property is managed by a Licensed Real Estate Agent. We will never request payments be made to an overseas bank account and your money is held safely in our Trust Account until after your departure.

Dunkarein - Getaway

Stayed in Currarong to Kayak, Climb and to relax. The property was great for a perfect getaway. Clean, good size. Having the outdoor seating area and BBQ is perfect, especially if your cooking for several people. Bathrooms were great, new & big. Bedrooms were a good size with lots of storage. Mattresses were very comfortable, especially for the older person :)... Only a short walk down to the water and cafe for a coffee and B&E.

For what we paid, for this time of year, this was a good value stay option. The property had what we needed to enjoy our stay in this beautiful area. We contacted the property managers a few times and they were helpful.

Currarong is such a beautiful little gem on the South Coast. The surrounds are truly hard to beat. Although we made the most of our stay, there were a few things we feel need to be mentioned. All the reviews for this property are pretty accurate. The sizing of the rooms has been inaccurately portrayed in the photos. It is much smaller than we expected. It was difficult to fit 6 adults comfortably in the tiny lounge/dining area, let alone infants. What made it even tighter was the unfortunate weather we had, which meant the beautiful bifold doors (that are the saving grace for the property) had to be closed, as the rain was coming in all angles onto the deck. If it wasn’t for the deck (and the weather clearing), our stay would have been very uncomfortable. It would be a huge benefit having clear blinds installed on the deck, stopping the rain from coming in. The cleanliness of the property was a real let down. After reading prior reviews, this seems to be a common theme despite the extensive checklist your cleaners are supposed to follow as you say. There are stains all over the lounge that with a simple steam clean should come out. There was sand all through the bedrooms and on the lounge. There was hair on the shower screen doors and in the shower grates. There was some of the previous occupants food still in the fridge/freezer, and belongings in drawers. The yard is great, but would have been better if it was mowed once in a while. For 5 nights with 6 adults there was about 5 rolls of toilet paper. So make sure you take your own if you’re going for a longer stay, as well as your linen and towels. I do apologise for all the negative feedback, but when it seems there are many reviews stating the same thing (Other websites included) something should give right?

Nice place, out door deck was great and the reason we chose to stay at Dunkarein. Unfortunately the roll down blinds & big shade umbrella are so knotted and taped up they were unusable. The massive spider webs and spiders that went with them and that covered everything were a very clear indication that despite being unable to check in any earlier than 3pm due to the place being cleaned the outdoor area wasn't included in the cleaning. Kitchen is very small but usable and we found everything we needed. The beds are comfortable with one bedroom being upstairs and two downstairs. There is NO internal access to the rooms downstairs and this is NOT INDICATED in the listing and would not suit a family with younger children. The pictures on the website are very deceiving the place is a lot smaller than the angles the pictures are taken at indicate. The furniture in the photos is also not the furniture currently in the house. The lounge is a three seater and was not big enough for the four adults trying to use it. The dining table is very sticky and nothing we cleaned it with removed the sticky resdue, the dining chairs were very hard and uncomfortable to stay seated at for long. The area is unbeatable, the house is in a great location. Easy walk to all beaches and headland walks.
