With its imposing gothic architecture, the Ibiza Cathedral is a highlight of the area. Inside the church, which dates back to the 14th century, is an array of sculptures and works of art. Next door, browse the exhibits of the Archaeological Museum of Ibiza, which studies the region’s natural and human history. At the core of the historic center, see Ibiza Castle, with its exhibits on the history of the city walls.
Explore the perimeter of the Dalt Vila for the ramparts, which were constructed in the 1500s to defend the island against potential attacks. At the eastern side of the Old Town district stands the Baluarte de Santa Lucía, a military bastion connecting the walls. Ascend to its parapets and stand beside the cannons for spectacular views of the sea and the rest of the island.

The Dalt Vila district is on the northeastern side of the city center of Ibiza. Ride a bus to one of the stops in the heart of the quarter and get around on foot. Check out the sights in the adjacent Ibiza City Center, including the Ibiza Cathedral, the Museu Puget and the Necropolis del Puig des Molins.
