Dunadd played a key defensive role during its time. Now a historic attraction, you can only imagine some of the scenes its mighty walls have witnessed.

You'll be spoiled for sightseeing choice in Lochgilphead. Dunadd is a good place to start here, but there are loads of other fine places to appreciate. Kilmartin Glen, The Cobbler, and Kilmartin House Museum are not far from the history-filled fortress and will round out your day nicely.

Lovely boutique hotel just out of the town with a nice view. A ideal place to be for quiet but within driving distance of Oban. Although our room was lovely and we had a good view of the loch, we could also see the bins right below our room, this could be avoided by just covering the bin area.
