Great location right in the middle of everything! Parking is challenging and no elevator, so be prepared to walk a lot of stairs. But it is worth it. :)

5 of us were traveling with large luggage. This property does not have a lift as it's built in 1800s. I thought our room was on the 2nd floor, so not terrible for 1 night. It was not. It was the to floor about 4 fights of stairs. Do not recommend for luggage travelers, but backpackers have at it. The apt was cute built into the roof. We would have enjoyed it more if we weren't out of breath from the journey up the stairs. Also, the addresses on this street don't add up, just look for Osaka restaurant to find it. Thank you for the staff person who helped navigate us and then showed up to help us up the stairs. Really appreciate the early checkin as well.

I rate this one for its location. Edinburg is a walkable city, but the location of this building is a huge bonus. However, The apartment is old and a bit stressed. The noise is not from the music or parties as people said in other reviews, it is from the Fan machine on the rooftop. It will be off around 2 AM, It is a bit annoying for someone sensitive to sleep. Plus. Expect to climb the stairs since there is no elevator, But that is quite normal if you stay in Old Town Edinburg.

Terrible Customer Service
After loosing hot water on our 2nd night, we spoke to and wrote to the management team. Not a single reply or response. Buyer beware. I'm including a copy our email. Good morning, I am writing to let you know of the issues/problems we encountered during our stay. I also reported the lack of hot water and heating to your colleague last night at 19:45 who was very understanding, however as we were going to bed it was too late to get someone out to repair or diagnose the hot water systems and we are due to leave early this morning. 1. Cupboard door on fridge broken and hanging off 2. 1 set of towels not provided for guests noted 3. No heating from last night through until out departure today 4. The boiler is getting hot and bubbling through the night but hot water only lasts for about 10 seconds then goes lukewarm and then cold 5. No ability to have showers 6. No heating in the apartment 7. No ability to wash up our remaining dishes 8. We have left property in a very good state as we are very neat and tidy people 9. Legs on chairs are loose and I worry they will break 10. Door stops do not work or are missing completely – the ones that are there are completely falling apart 11. No kitchen sink plug and kitchen could use a few more utensils 12. The door frame around the front door is showing significant signs of damage from the chain being put on and previous tenants pulling the door. The door frame is coming away from the wall. There are clear signs of poor previous repairs 1

This hotel is great. Suite is big and feels like home. However this is not a real hotel, it is more like an apartment, no hotel staff on site. If you want to talk to the management team, you have to communicate them a few days earlier, or you may not be able to get the help needed.

Bed was hard as a rock you might, as will be sleeping on a piece of plywood Bedroom windows did not close all the way on top so street noise was very loud and disrupted sleep Check in process was a bit tricky, you have to enter codes to get in the main door then more codes to get your key out of a box. Then you have to climb about 30 steps to get to the 2nd level and another 30 if your rooms are on the 3rd level not ideal for handicapped or elderly guests, especially if you have to drag your luggage up the stairs. NO LIFT! Lightbulb in the bedroom was out on the hanging fixture. One of the doors on the armoire was bent, place was clean, no TV in the Bedroom The positives: the price was good compared to other places in town, the location is fantastic. If you can get past the busy noises of the street and managed to sleep. Loved having the grocery store next-door to buy water and food.. well designed kitchenette, and other amenities. But the biggest problem here is the street noise, the hard bed and the stairs. But you get what you pay for.

Amazing location in center of Edinburgh old town, easy walk anywhere in the city. Unit was modern and nicely appointed but a bit noisy due to location on South Bridge and near Cannon Gate bars, but we enjoyed the energy of the town. Better for young adults than families with kids.

We had a great stay. The apt. was clean, the beds were comfy and the shower was great ! We didn't prepare any meals but everything was there. We were close to the Royal Mile... very easy walk to shopping and restaurants. This is a renovated old building and they had all the new fire safety standards ( fire doors, sprinklers and alarm. ) It was nice to see. The person who we met on the way in was nice and helpful. My only comment is we were on the top floor and it was a ways up with luggage. ( They were clear in the description about the stairs ) Would I stay again... yes !

Fabulous location for seeing all of the main sites in Edinburgh. Modern amenities, very clean, and a nice touch having tea and shortbread out in the kitchen. Very responsive via email and text. Highly recommend if you’re wanting to be in the heart of the city!

Good Hotel - Great Location
This is a great little hotel with a unique concept. There is no front desk. The location is great and it makes everything walkable. My only complaints would be there is no A/C and the bus stop in the front door.

Great location if you want to be right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Staff is accessible and helpful. Clean. Harder to find lodging for larger families in the city. It does sleep six. It is essentially an attic converted into a living space. Low slanted ceilings. It is very hot and you must have windows open and fans. It is also very noisy, they left earplugs on the night tables. The fans do help some. The kitchen is not well equipped for cooking, but you can easily have breakfast The front door is right next to a bus stop so it is always very crowded.

We had a great stay at Mono Suites. The location is extremely convenient, with access to restaurants, a grocery store, transportation, and ease of walking to the Royal Mile. The only drawback was that, since there isn't air conditioning (it's unnecessary, due to the normal temps there), we opened the windows to cool things down. Our apartment was facing the sun and warmed up quickly. With the windows open, it was extremely loud and made it difficult to sleep at night.

The property itself was very nice and in a central location, but being central does bring extra noise. Earplugs are provided and definitely help out.

No lift but were advised after booking. No shelving or enough hooks in bathroom. No shelf in shower for soap washer. Could not adjust temperature and it was very hot. Had to open windows which made it loud. But was conveniently located within walking distance of castle.

The apartment was clean and modern and perfect for what we needed as a family of 4, however it is clearly situated right next to a nightclub and the noise was unbearable! From about 11pm till 4am we could hear music and so many people in the street, obviously drunk and singing and shouting at the top of their voices! This was so loud inside the apartment (possibly because the external part of the sash window was purposely jammed open) to top this off there was a couple in the corridor of the apartments arguing at the top of their voices for a few hours around the same time! As there is no reception no one did anything about this and it was actually quite intimidating (especially for the children) as the man was banging and smashing things. Is there CCTV? Could no one see what was going on to send someone to do something about it?

We would have taken appropriate action, to ensure the comfort and safety to you.Remember that it's important to us to prioritize your safety and well-being, especially when traveling with your family.The window was clearly not purposely jammed open, however we have immeditely addressed the issue and solved it.

the suite was fine overall. some dirty areas that need cleaning. But the beds are nowhere near comfortable enough for a £300+ a night stay. The sofabed was lumpy and not really useable. The main bedroom bed was so hard i barely slept. Not value for money.

Great central location
Amazing location, very central, but the price of that is road noise. Very comfortable and clean although sofa bed lumpy.
