"If traveling by car, this is a splendid place to stay in the Duro Valley. Staff and room were very nice. A wonderful breakfast was included, which seems to be a vanishing practice in Europe these days. The hotel offers diner (not included) as well. The town of Tabuaco is quite small so dining options near by are limited. We would stay there again."

"We had a great time and enjoyed the swimming pool. There were few residents and it was very quiet. One member of staff stood out as being excellent and speaking English, we believe his name is Marco or Mario. This hotel could be so much more popular if it were to focus on a specific market. The decor is 50's period but this could add to its charm. It has all the facilities you could want, but would be difficult for disabled people."

"The Chef went above and beyond coming to our table to explain how he created his dishes. The food was excellent. The front desk manager took time to come to our car and help us figure out how to pay the parking since it was all in Portuguese. Saved us!"

"Amazing views, amazing hosts. We were given samples of the local wine. We were lucky enough to join one of the hosts on his daily 5km walk. It was a great experience."

"The city of Armamar is quite sleepy and small. For us, this location was wonderfully convenient for the wineries we were visiting. But if you are hoping to walk around at night for night life, this may not be the town for you.
The PINTA boutique hotel was beautifully decorated and in great condition. The staff was also communicative, and there is a small but convenient free parking light just behind the property. My husband actually took a job interview (via Zoom) from the common area/breakfast room. We wish we could have stayed here longer, because we really enjoyed our stay and spacious, beautifully decorated room. And the price can't be beat.
FYI, our room and many others have only a curtain separating the sleeping area from bathroom. So just know there is less privacy than a solid door when using the toilet.

"Rooms were just okay, quite basic, very stark. The property, lobby, and restaurant were beautiful which was quite a contrast to rooms. Carpet was a bit dirty and musty smell in hallways. Pool and bar area was beautiful. Town was extremely quiet when we were there and unsure of walking around at night. Exceptional wine tour by Bambuti arranged by hotel. Overall a nice stay. "
"The Quinta da Moita is out of the way of the Douro Valley but well worth the detour. I stayed there 3 nights on a solo trip. The owners are fantastic, very sweet. The place is perfect for quiet respite, clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast! I recommend to anyone for solo stay or couple gateaway! Their wines are great too!
Just make sure to have food for dinner if you want to relax for the evening as everything is pretty far. But the drive is gorgeous and fun!

"This hotel was a quiet osasis of calm with beautiful views and great food. The rooms were quite small but there were more than adequate lounges and outdoor areas to compensate."
