Franeker is a interesting litte town with a rich history. "downtown" you will find the the world's oldest functioning planetarium. It was build by Eise Eisinga in his living room, partly to prove the end of the world was not near at all. "Sehr schöne Anlage, direkt am Wasser. Häuser sehen alle gut aus. Aber leider waren die Matratzenschoner dreckig (Haare) und es gab noch andere Sachen, die negativ aufgefallen sind. Zudem ist der Preis trotz Nebensaison sehr hoch, für das was man bekommt. Check-Out ist um 10.00 Uhr, obwohl man selber putzen und aufräumen muss."
