"We absolutely loved staying at Roger’s home in Keswick! The three of us had plenty of room, all of the amenities we needed, and a beautiful garden courtyard to spend time together. It is a nice walk on a footpath to town, and a short distance to the Castlerigg Stone Circle. Roger was very helpful and gave us great recommendations for our stay in this gorgeous area. We hope to get back there again!"

"The property is set in a stunning setting, opposite Blencathra, in a really quiet location. Unfortunately, however, the cottage has a rodent problem. Each morning we'd find mouse droppings underneath the fridge, on window ledges and by the sink. On leaving we also discovered mice had chewed through one of our bags."

"We had a great holiday. We stay for 4 nights ( 4 adults and 2 children (10 and 6)). The lodge is very cosy and it is very spacious. My son was very happy watching the ducks swimming in the pond. "This was a great break in a gorgeous property. Everything was as described, including the facilities and location / proximity to the beach. I had no concerns about the dogs in the garden with the high and fully secure fence and all rooms were spacious to accommodate us. This was our third stay in Southerness and most certainly the best property we have stayed in. We will be back."

Lovely hotel, friendly service
"A nice hotel situated in the centre of Cockermouth. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby, especially the steakhouse which is attached to the hotel. I can recommend this. Parking is in the council car park opposite for which there is a charge but it is very cheap. £6.60 for 24 hours. Inside the hotel is very old, (but nice) with low ceilings, crooked floors and exposed wooden beams. Stunning. On arrival the check in manager was very friendly and helpful, as were the rest of the staff during the stay. Wifi worked fine for business too."
