It is the most northern part of Alps which rises over 2.000 meters of altitude. There are basically no lifts in the Hochschwab, so you can enjoy it in its natural state. In September the weather is quite stable (although quite windy and freezing in the morning in the top parts) and only few tourists which get such rewarding views for the pain of hiking it by own feet. It is located in altitude of 1.414 meters. It is few hours hike southwest from the Schiestlhaus and totally worth due to the variable countryside (barren limestone plateau with grassy meadows, green scrub pine forrests, classical mountain forrests) and less crowded hiking routes (namely ať the end of the season).
