I only needed to crash here to make it to the airport, so luckily I did not spend much time, but my room was definitely not very clean. The bathroom smelled of mildew and the sheets/pillows sort of kicked up dust when I fluffed them? The person who I paid to transport me to the airport in the morning seemed very annoyed to have to take me, and not the most friendly

Where should I start? I sent several emails to confirm the shuttle service but the hotel did not respond until 3 days later when I was in transit and had no wifi. I was left in the cold at midnight with my young son to fetch a bus from Gatwick. Luckily it is in close proximity to the airport. Additionally, the carpet in the room was wet. I was highly annoyed but at that hour, I just wanted to sleep and leave. The free breakfast was trash. And I almost broke my neck on the very narrow staircase.

My room was at the front and ground level, the window would not shut completely and the site is on a busy main road leading to Gatwick. A different room or possibly a window which shut, would have given a better rating as eveything else was good.

Nice little hotel
Excellent value for money. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel was quiet at night and the bedroom comfortable. The breakfast is basic but it is free, so I can't complain. Would stay again when flying from Gatwick.

Das Hotel entsprach absolut nicht den Erwartungen und der Beschreibung. Wir hatten zwei Doppelzimmer. Das eine war von der größe ok, sauberkeit ging auch. Das Bad war sehr klein mit Dusche und kleinem Waschbecken. Die warm- und Kaltwasserhähne waren vertauscht, dass heisst bei kalt kam warm und anders rum. Das zweite Doppelzimmer war eie katastrophe. Es lag unterm Dach und hatte dachschrägen im Zimmer, dadurch konnte selbst eine kleine Person (1,60m groß) nicht gerade stehen im Zimmer. Es gab eine kleine Dusche direkt hinter der Tür, ein WC und ein Mini Waschbecken direkt im Zimmer. Die Klamotten konnten nur in einer Komode verstaut werden, da ein Kleiderschrank keinen Platz mehr fand. Meine Freundin sagte, dieses Zimmer ist ausreichend für Minions - was es sehr gut beschreibt. Das Dachzimmer war teuer als das andere Doppelzimmer. Keine Ahnung warum. Das ganze Hotel war gespikt mit Duftstäbchen und anderen Zeugs, so dass es sehr unangenehm roch. Der Teppich, der überhalb verlegt war (Zimmer, Treppen) hat seine besten Tage hinter sich. Das Frühstück bestand aus zweit Brotsorten und diveresen Mameladen, mittelmäßigem Kaffe und Wasser. Dann gab es noch einige, in Plastikverpackte "Brötchen". Der Springbrunnen vor der Tür muss dringend gereinigt werden. Und unter den Büschen wurde der Aschenbecher entleert. Die hängenden Blumen an der einen Hausseite waren aus Kunststoff..... Also hier werden wir definitiv nie wieder hin fahren.

Had a good nights rest, not far from the airport £17 cab fare from Gatwick and back as had a bit of luggage otherwise could have walked from Horley .. saving a few dollars … what was great about here apart from the attentive staff for any request, there was a really tasty food experience from the restaurant .. we had a lovely Indian takeaway in our room watching a film on netflix , cooked downstairs … Great chef!! Friendly staff!! Quiet location even though on a high road, warm room.. hot shower … Basic room .. everything was fine for what we needed 😃💫

Some areas need updating. However, the staff unbelievably efficient and friendly. Great food in the restaurant, perfectly OK free breakfast. Thoughtful amenities in the room, which was small-ish but perfectly adequate and efficiently appointed. We loved the staff. We will always stay there on evry visit to Gatwick.

We paid for a triple room and upon check in - the staff tried to give us a room with a double bed only. When we raised the issue that we paid for at least a twin and a single, they did move us to a larger room, however the single bed that was in the room was literally broken....when laid upon you rolled off onto the floor. When we complained again, he tried to give us a room with 2 single beds (again after we paid for a triple) Finally we ended up with a twin and a semi functional single (even though the mattress was shot, sagging and uncomfortable - at least it wasn't broken) The breakfast "included" was weak. No coffee, and some watered down kool-aid type drink was passed off as "juice". Pre packaged pastries and some dry cereal were the only other things available. There was mold growing in the corner of the shower. The towel bar was falling off the wall, and there was no soap nor shampoo in the dispensers. The only redeeming quality, was that they have a good indian/curry restaurant on the main floor. However, that alone wouldn't be enough for me to stay here again.

There was no place to park anywhere but the street in a place that wasn’t really for parking. The room was so small I couldn’t stand up, and I’m an average sized woman. They gave me room that wasn’t fully finished with construction, the water squirted everywhere. The bed was uncomfortable and the free breakfast was nothing more than cereal and toast. How this got such a high rating is a total mystery to me!

Great stay.
My stay at Acorn Lodge was very good all staff were very friendly & helpful helping with my luggage & ringing a taxi for me. The breakfast was well presented & had a good variety of food & drinks. If im ever in the area again ill certainly stay there. Thank you everyone

It was okay, but expensive for what it was
Basic / okay (if relatively expensive) accommodation for what it is. Biggest annoyance was other occupants having a very loud "smoke" right outside our window at 0430 without any care / notice that they might be stood outside someone's room and thus causing disturbance.
