This is a huge hotel of 70 rooms, with multiple bars. Checkin was smooth and there are plenty of staff about. The double room we booked had a double and a single bed which made the room snug but the beds were comfortable. Towels were a bit small and thin and disturbingly yellow. There is a large car park which gets very full. We had hoped to charge our ev but the ev spaces were being used by non EVs and the car park was completely full anyway.
We had not bargained for the liveliness of Kilkenny at the weekend or how busy and noisy the hotel would be with very loud music under our room until 2am and revelers walking past our room talking loudly well into the night. We were in room 61 near the lift. Breakfast was good but fairly limited in variety.
To be honest we had envisaged a different kind of hotel from the online details and the high price tag. We paid £211/night which is at the upper end of our budget.
