Beautiful resort with fabulous views of the sea and gorgeous grounds. Rooms are very spacious and have very cool designs. With that being said , unfortunately property suffers from staffing issues. From what I underestood resort uses many seasonal workers for temporary assignments from all over the world. Many of them don’t have any sort of attachment to the area and their heart is not in the work they do and this is very obvious. Tbey rarely ever smile and honestly when you ask something, it feels like you are a burden and nuisance. Although resort is considered luxury resort, employees don’t have a luxury resort etiquette. I had an incident during check out that we were standing in line for our turn. When our turn came up, this employee (Zeldjan) began to shout in Croatian to the person who was behind me in line!!! It was unbelievable and very unprofessional behavior. As I was talking to him about our bill, he interrupted me several time to speak to this person for whatever reason. Eventually I had to slam my hand in the counter and told him to please show some respect . Other than that resort was great. There are plenty of restaurants on site and food quality in my opinion was average. Be careful with breakfast buffet as I noted some items( like cold cuts and cheese) were used several days in row and became stale and tasted odd. Also there is vista restaurant which offers Mexican style food and for Americans I advise you to stay away from as it didn’t taste mexican at all.

Great experience

We booked a room with balcony and stayed for 2-night. The room has a very comfy design and is maintained in good condition. Everyday they arrange room clean-up. The Scalini Palace is located in an excellent location, very close to the Main Street, taking us just a few steps to Stradun. It’s esp convenient if you want to take nice photos of old town in very early morning. No lift, same as many other hotels/apartments in the old town, so you have to walk upstairs to the floor you stay. Staffs are very nice. They allow us to drop luggages in reception before check-in time, and helped us moving the luggages upstairs to our room. Breakfast is quite nice, freshly prepared. Love the coffee they prepared! The balcony is a tiny one, but it has quite a nice view.
