The apartment is on the third Floor of the main house. A large living room 29m² with sofa bed, fireplace and a cozy bench bayerischr dining area and full kitchen. Color TV, stereo, CD player. Separate bedroom with double bed and Zirbelholzschrank, view Jochberg .. Large balcony-arbor overlooking the Jochberg, Herzogstand and the Walchensee. The house has a swimming pool and a small sauna with relaxation area. Einener access to the lake with lawn, patio and swimming raft.

Comfortable apartment with a lovely view of Walchensee from the balcony
The owner was there to welcome us on arrival and show us how everything worked. He provided flowers and welcome gifts which was a lovely unexpected gesture. The apartment was comfortable and the complex has an indoor swimming pool and private lakeside garden with access to the lake for swimming, etc. The complex also has launderette facilities.

A serene and beautifully maintained apartment with a glorious view of the sparkling Walchensee
It is impossible to overstate the pleasure of spending a week in this lovely apartment, charmingly and comfortably furnished in traditional Bavarian style, with a well-appointed kitchen and spacious bath, on the 4th (and top) floor of the former Hotel Post. (The hotel was converted to individually owned and beautifully designed apartments in the 1980s, but the cafe and restaurant remain, and the wonderful private lakeside swimming beach and dock are reserved for the owners of the apartments and their guests.) Because the apartment is on the top floor, it is not only very quiet and private, but also has a marvelous view from the generous balcony of the lake and the 400-year-old cloister on the opposite shore. When we arrived (by car, from Munich), the owner of the apartment, Martin Schmiegelow, whose primary residence is in Munich, was waiting to welcome us. After showing us the apartment and the amenities of the complex (which include an indoor swimming pool and sauna in the basement, as well as washing machines and an electric dryer), he shared his knowledge of the area, with recommendations for restaurants, excursions, and hiking. When he left we noticed the bottle of wine, the bowl of fruit, and the delicious chocolates he had left as "housewarming" gifts for us! During the week that followed, we explored the delightful village of Walchensee, swam in the pristine cool water of the lake itself, took the cable car to the "Herzogenstand" and climbed to the Panorama at the top, visited the centuries-old town of Mittenwald which has been a center of violin-making for the last 400 years, marveled at the dramatic, craggy peaks of the Karwendel Alps, and enjoyed traditional Bavarian food and drink wherever we found it (which was everywhere!). A note about conveniences and necessities in the village of Walchensee and surrounding area: In addition to the several inns and restaurants in the village of Walchensee there is a comprehensive Tourist Information office, a bank, and a small convenience store; a Rewe supermarket is a 10-minute drive away in Wallgau and an Edeka supermarket just a few minutes' further in Krun. It perhaps should be taken into consideration that there are relatively few American tourists in this part of Bavaria and a smattering of German (while by no means obligatory!) can come in handy.

Ein schönes fleckchen in Bayern
Ein wirklich schönes fleckchen in Bayern. Es ist sehr ruhig und der ausblick ist Phantastisch. Dennoch ist es auch sehr zentral. Skigebiet, Ausflüge, Leckerer Restaurants und Österreich ein steinwurf entfernt. Die Wohnung ist in einen Gepflegten Urigen zustand. Der Gastgeber ist mehr als nett! Er ist so wie man sich das wünschen würde. Eher ein guter Bekannter als ein als ein Vermieter. Mit schönen willkommengeschenken bei der anreise. Und guten tipps für die Umgebung und ausflüge. Ein extrem netter mensch. Unten befindet sich eine sauna und ein schwimmbad. Was das ganze abrundet?

Ich bin begeistert, der Vermieter ist super freundlich und hat bei Ankunft alles genau erklärt. Die Wohnung war sauber und toll hergerichtet, vorallem der große Balkon mit Blick auf den Walchensee und die Berge war atemberaubend schön. Ich habe mich hier unglaublich wohl gefühlt! Schöne Wohnung in schöner Umgebung
Sehr gastfreundlicher Vermieter. Wohnung bietet alles, was benötigt wird und ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Traumhafte Lage direkt am Walchensee. Schöner großer Balkon mit Blick auf den Fahrenberg und seitlich zum Walchensee. Wer mit Auto da ist, hat keine Probleme alle Highlights der Region schnell anzufahren. Mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln geht es auch, ist aber etwas aufwendiger ans Ziel zu kommen. Die Wohnung trug zu einem perfekten Urlaub wesentlich bei. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Gemütliche Wohnung, tolle Lage!
Ich wurde vom sehr netten Vermieter an der Wohnung empfangen, und er hat mir alles ausführlich gezeigt. Parkplätze reichlich vorhanden. Zur Begrüßung stand eine individuelle Karte und 1 Flasche Wein und Bier auf dem Tisch, außerdem ein Korb Obst. Die Wohnung ist gut ausgestattet mit allem was man braucht. WLAN, Mikrowelle, Spülmaschine und Waschmaschine sind nicht vorhanden, das ist aber schon aus der Beschreibung ersichtlich. Ansonsten sind alle Kochutensilien da, Messer, Töpfe, Pfannen, usw. auch Öl, Salz, Pfeffer, Kaffee, Tee, u.a. Die Wohnung ist urig-gemütlich eingerichtet, sehr nette Atmosphäre. Es ist alles ordentliche Qualität, auch wenn das Mobiliar vielleicht etwas älter ist. Das Bad ist weiß gefliest mit kleinen Kacheln, Dusche mit Duschvorhang über der Badewanne, alles schön sauber und ordentlich. Habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Vom überdachten Balkon hat man einen Blick auf den See. Man kann dort schön frühstücken, Tisch und Stühle vorhanden. Der Walchensee ist direkt auf der anderen Straßenseite von der Wohnung. Morgens ist die Stimmung traumhaft ruhig am See, habe morgens dort viele Spaziergänge gemacht. Kann diese Ferienwohnung sehr empfehlen.

Sehr netter Vermieter. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich. Frisches Obst und schöne Blumen sowie ein paar nette Überraschungen lagen für uns bereit.
