La Roche-en-Ardenne Vacations from $2,008

Had a enjoyable stay friendly helpful staff.

The room was extremely hot at all times and could not be cooled down, the radiator was turned off and we had to keep the window open at all times. One of the walls was hot to the touch and could hear running water behind it, I think the heating pipes ran through the walls and had no insulation which made the room unbearable to sleep in even with the window open in October.

The room was large and very nice with great amenities. We also really enjoyed going to the private and shaded garden with a glass of wine to relax in peace and quiet.

The room was very nice, room 110 is on the 1st floor and directly above the canal and loading station for canal trips, bizarrely the room is never dark at night, it is floodlit from the other side of the hotel and there are lights outside of the windows that never go off, one of the staff said a city law said all lights had to go off by 10pm, so if you do want a dark room make sure it is not looking down on the canal. The lounge and dining room are very nice, the breakfast is very good, but you should not have to pay extra for fried eggs etc when you have paid over 400 euros for the room, that is an insult. Location is great, some of the visitors to Bruge are not so nice, there were roudy scenes by what can best be described as lager louts who think think it funny to shout at their mates who are going on a canal boat ride, this happened in the evening and the following morning, nothing the hotel can do but perhaps the politie could.

Beautiful property with amazing help and insight to Brugge from Hans and his wife. They helped us every step of the way with canal tours, buying chocolate, booking dinners, and just exploring Brugge. A one of a kind historic house with both old and new details and the best breakfast hand prepared. Thx for an A plus experience at Quay 17 and all of Brugge. Todd and Jill C
