Owner has blocked off access to lobby and looks like he has made it his office. All transactions are done in the Air Lock between the outside and door and the door to lobby. It was clean and Owner was nice. This is an older motel that just happens to have a microwave and small fridge so now it is an Inn? Facility is covered with spiderwebs and so is the room. The floor had not been vacuumed and my non smoking room had bedding with cigarette burns. If you need towels, it is your responsibility to bring them to the front counter to trade them in. This was well after normal check in time around 7 pm. We had a service animal with us. We were informed that there would be a $500 extra charge as well as the $100 cleaning fee. I explained that the dog is registered. The manager was very rude when I tried to explain that the ADA covers service animals without extra charges. Never got key and was told he could not refund money because Hotels.com made reservation. Hotels.com service tells me that since it was after check in time, I could not get money refunded. Even though reservation was made well after their check in time to begin with. ##### Verified traveler Stayed 1 night in Mar 2025 ### 2/10 Terrible #### LeeVesta Jul 6, 2025 Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities The Homegate Inn in Louisville, Mississippi is one of the worst motel/hotels I think Iā€™ve ever stayed at. And Iā€™ve stayed at LOTS of them. Everything was all run down when Iā€™m checked into my room. The room was so hot and had the worst cigarette smell and mold stench Iā€™ve ever had in a motel. I walked into my room and started sneezing and coughing as soon as I walked into the room when I complained all they would do is spray some Lysol and that was supposed to take care of it, but it didnā€™t help at all, so I still wound up having to stay because I couldnā€™t find another place to stay. The chair, couch and carpet are all ripped and stained up. The ONLY thing that was decent is the air conditioner. It actually cools the room off doesnā€™t get rid of the stink, but it does at least keep the room nice and cool. The motel is 30 miles from the church where my grandson is getting married. Heā€™s lucky that I wanted to come to his wedding so much. I looked at the parking spaces several times, took pictures of the empty spaces up until 10:00, then again before 7:30 am. There were 4 cars parked in the back, and 4 cars Parked in the front, including mine! My husband had to stop twice going up the stairs carrying 2 overnight bags. Had he fallen, I would be sueing you. Worried about my car getting broken into to. The no smoking sign on the door was hanging off and upon walking into the room and it already smelled of smoke. It did not seem clean. There were towels hanging in the bathroom and 1 wash cloth and it had hair in it. We did not even use the bath tub because there was hair in it. The bed ugh, the covers did not smell clean. We slept on top of the covers with blankets that we brought with us. I would not stay here again. The AC did not work properly, extremely loud & didnā€™t cool as it shouldā€™ve. Our room window external pane had a large hole from something hitting it.
