"The house is beautifully decorated and bountifully stocked. The internet speed is fast and reliable, but we used our time to unplug and put down devices. I really enjoyed the pastoral views. We got to see green rolling hills, cows, the mountains in the background and lots of backyard birds. It is a very special property."

"From the moment we arrived at the property and identified ourselves as the family staying at Elmo's rest, we were treated like part of the family. We arrived at the house to find everything clean and ready even though we were a couple hours early. The house is a century old so floors creak and some doors stick a bit. "This house was everything we could have asked for and more. The location was amazing. It was secluded at the foot of the mountains, which made for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It was quiet and peaceful. It was also centrally located to area attractions, such as, natural bridge, VA safari park, Lynchburg, and the natural bridge caverns. "This was a last minute booking. One snafu with Vacasa with them not being able to verify my ID via DL but with a quick phone call that was corrected. The home itself is nice and has plenty of space and amenities. The decibel reader is a little off-putting but I understand with VA laws being the way they are. Overall, it was a nice stay."
