We stayed at this cute cabin on our vacation from the Houston, Texas area to visit the Wegner Crystal Mine. It was a wonderful reprieve from the city. Good times to be had!!
We (my husband, 12 y/o daughter and myself) had a lovely time staying at Whispering Pines! Kat was beyond friendly and incredibly accommodating! We had run out of TP and she had dropped some off within 2 minutes of me reaching out to her. We had a lovely bonfire and spent time by the beautiful creek. Plenty of games and movie options. If you're coming to mine for crystals, highly recommend staying here, the location is not far from a few different mines and crystal shops. Wegner Mines, Real Earth Creations and Fiddler's Ridge rock shop. Fiddler's is literally right next door, you can walk there and it's owned by Kat's mom which we thought was super cool. Easy drives to Mt Ida, Hot Springs and Hickory Nut Mountain(great for pictures/breathtaking views). Looking for food, try El Diamante and get their homemade fruit punch, so tasty, or run over to Victory Pie Company for a slice of pie. Only downfalls we had was that it was hard to see the driveway/property at night and the property was a little closer to the road than we had hoped, so you will hear more of the traffic than the whispering pines.

The cabin was exactly what we needed. It is adorable and comfy! It has never ending hot water too! All the little extras help to make it extra special. The hair were as amazing as the cabin! The coziest little getaway
My husband and I dug all day for crystals for our birthday and we got to unwind in this cute little cabin that was perfect for the two of us! Very clean and functional and the outdoor atmosphere was very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend and would totally stay here again!

Cute little cabin- had what we needed-doing sightseeing in area of fall foliage so was great location- centrally located for trip we planned. This is in description of property but just be aware it is located right off a highway so there is traffic noise- it was not a problem for us and we would stay there again- just depends on what your plans are during the trip. The cabin was very clean, stocked, and adorable. The property with the trail was really cool and there are tons of games to choose from along with a firepit to sit around! Kat was very helpful in pointing us in the direction of fun things to do and good places to eat. The view of the stars was phenomenal and it was the perfect place for our anniversary weekend!!

It was centrally located to the activities we planned (Twin Creek Crystal Mining, Crater of Diamond State Park, and Hot Springs). The creek behind the cabin was a huge bonus. Wonderful weekend getaway.
What an amazing find! Wonderful host. Wonderful location. If you are going for the Crystal digging this is the place to stay. Right next door is a great roadside rock and gem store. Wonderful people there. My daughter enjoyed the small hike to the creek a number of times and once worn out relaxed in the hammocks. Great stay! Thanks for it all!! Host was responsive to any needs.

FABULOUS!!!!
My 24-year old daughter, 2-year old grandbaby, 6-year old son, and I decided to take a spontaneous trip and came across this dream adventure. When I say it's a dream adventure, I mean it is just PERFECT for littles. The two of them had so much fun being leaders following the trail of white rocks and flags to the creek. The creek was just high enough for them to enjoy but not high enough to worry. We sat up our beach chairs in the rocks and rested our feet in the water watching them explore. When we got back, they had so much fun in the cabin. They played upstairs and called it their "clubhouse". After they went to sleep, my daughter and I were able to sit at the outside seating area enjoying wine and overdue chatting. It was just perfect! There is no detail that the hosts haven't thought of. Although it was perfect for our little group, I could also see it being a lovely booking for a romantic getaway as well. I definitely want to go back. Next time, we will try to make it to the rock shop within walking distance, but we stayed on Sun-Labor Day Monday. BOOK IT. You'll be glad you did!
