Historic Cannon House - steps from the beach in Ocean Park

Right in the heart of Ocean Park, the historic Cannon house awaits your arrival. With its wrap around porch you view the iconic Ocean Park Library and Gazebo, Soda Fountain, and beach. There are four bedrooms upstairs - one has an attached sun room which can be used for sleeping space esp. for kids, and there is one bedroom downstairs. . For those of you new to Ocean Park, there are clay tennis and shuffleboard courts across the street. Several restaurants are a stone's throw from the house too. Ocean Park is a quiet family community about 1 mile from the crazy fun at the OOB Pier. The Ocean Park Association hosts family events throughout the summer. Please Google Map our house ( 9 Temple Ave ) to see the surrounding area. The house is available SUNDAY to SUNDAY only.

Wonderful vacation in the Cannon House
This is our second summer staying in the Cannon House. It’s a lovely home in the perfect location! We have a multi-generational gathering in Ocean Park and the layout of the house is perfect for accommodating different generations. The proximity to the beach and Ocean Park stores and restaurants is perfect. And the porch is our favorite place every morning and evening. We love this house!

Wonderful large house in a great location
We were delighted by this property! The pictures do not accurately depict how lovely and spacious this house is. It was large enough for our active family to enjoy and yet also have space for quiet times. We would strongly recommend and we hope to stay here again.

Spectacular Beach Stay
We've been coming to Ocean Park for about fifteen years and this was overall the best house we've stayed in. Particularly miraculous was that it was available. The home itself is old and wonky in all the right ways but restored and updated where you want it. The kitchen was spacious, functional, and beautiful. The porch was a lovely place to perch and grill. We were skeptical of the beds at fist but they turned out to be comfortable for the whole family and we had plenty of bedroom options to suit our multigenerational needs. The common living spaces are connected enough but allow for numerous groups to be doing numerous things without being in each other's way. A half of a block to the beach made spreading the family between beach and house a breeze and so everyone stayed happy and the keyless entry made sure all members could run back and grab something without juggling keys. The runaway hit for the week was without a doubt the pingpong table which, despite being held together with bubble gum, sand, and pixie dust, hosted numerous raucous tournaments. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely family getaway locale with us. Go Pats!

Beautiful House, Great Hosts
This is our second time staying at the property and plan to return again next year. Great location in ocean park, and just a couple houses down from the beach. Hosts and caretaker are wonderful and available when needed.

Beautiful historic house in OP!
We had a wonderful two week stay at this lovely house in OP! The location is perfect and the house worked well for an extended family vacation. We loved the proximity to the beach and sitting on the huge porch watching all the comings and goings in Ocean Park!

Big house great for visitors in the middle of town
It was a great place to stay. Very large house 5 bedrooms though one is a walk-through. It is right in down town ocean park and provided a lively background for our visit as compared to Bitterford. It is quieter than OOB though. I think this is a big house meant for 4 couples with all their kids. The beach ia right down the block and was a great place for morning coffee.

Amazing Ocean Park Property
We really enjoyed our stay. We have been coming to Ocean Park for years and this property was the perfect location—close to all of our favorite Ocean Park amenities including the soda fountain, shuffleboard and most importantly the beach. The house was perfect for our family’s stay, with a grand porch, open eating and kitchen area and laundry. It was very easy to work with the property owner and the house was very clean and tidy. We would love to return again!

Spectacular Stay at Amazing Home
We loved staying at this house! The location was perfect for going to the beach, grabbing food, and get to other places around Portland while we were in town. The home was clean, well equipped if we made dinner there, and had great amenities. The owners were also excellent at communicating and giving us information about the house, the neighborhood, and the area in general. If we plan another trip to Maine will definitely be seeing if this house is available.

Great Beach House
We have been coming to the OOB area for many years, but this was our first stay in Ocean Park. The house is in the heart of Ocean Park so if you are looking for solitude, this probably isn’t the best choice. The house was great. Lots of windows to let in the cool ocean breezes. The porch is wonderful, my favorite place to relax and cool off. The owners are very considerate and make sure you have everything you need for a great week. There is no A/C but the nights typically cool down and there are plenty of window fans. Definitely will rent again!

We've been coming to OOB for 15 years for our family vacation. This year our regular rental wasn't available, so we took a chance on a new spot. We're glad we did, the house is great and the hosts are wonderful. Highly recommended.

Perfect Beach Home
This beautiful historic beach home accommodated every need for our large family. The ocean breeze that came through the extra large windows was delightful and the wrap around porch was our favorite to sit and relax.
