"Our stay at the GrandWest Arashiyama was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean, reception was incredibly helpful, and the location was quiet and idyllic. During our stay we made the most of the amenities including free refreshments, a washing/drying machine, and a cute cafe situated just downstairs from the hotel entrance. Our stay here was easily one of the best parts of our trip to Japan and I highly encourage those visiting Arashiyama to consider this hotel!"
"This hotel is truly like stepping into another world. The service is impeccable, the room we had was gorgeous and superbly clean. We were lucky enough to have a private onsen with very clean water at the perfect temperature on a lovely little lanai.
All of the staff are very friendly and professional and the food is fantastic as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a touch of classic Japan in Kyoto!"
"A great ryokan with very friendly staff. The Japanese breakfast was the best we had in Japan! Our room was nice, clean, and had an amazing view. Great location! "
"Close to bamboo forest, being first time in Japan, the meaning of adults only is different than at resorts, but l was surprised by the comfort and the shuttle service provided. And the breakfast sandwiches were delicious. "
"The Koubai suite was wonderful. The outdoor bath is very private and peaceful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the private garden was lovely. This is my favourite room in Japan so far!"
"We stayed at Yadotu Kyoto Hanare for 6 days and it was amazung!! This place is truly extraordinary - you get lots of space, full comfort and luxury in real, authentic Japanese way. "This was a great hotel as it was clean, good room size, breakfast was fantastic (lots of Japanese and Western options) and the hot baths is a bonus! The only downside was that we had to take the bus to get to most locations (which I learned after visiting Kyoto this is a common thing for everyone since the train system isn't as elaborate as it is in Tokyo so I still gave it 5 stars). Overall, for the price and value of the hotel we would stay here again! "
