"It’s hard to say what the most important thing is for a hotel stay. Is it 1) the property and room, 2) the food or 3) the staff? Well, it doesn’t matter with this property cause you’re winning on all 3. Quiet location at the end of summer/beginning of autumn, room size was good, room was clean, bed was fairly comfortable, bedding was great (the best pillows of the 8 hotels I’ve stayed in Japan). The Host is like a qualified Chef 👨🍳 (food was very nice and so well and professionally...

"Had an awesome stay, right up in the mountains. Staff were great and even shuttled us to the train station and back whenever we needed it. Loved and it would definitely stay again. "

"Everything about the accommodation was excellent, especially the staff! Despite the communication struggles, they were very helpful and provided great service during my stay. The free shuttle service to the ski resort was also extremely useful as they would drive you to your desired resort and pick you up at your specified time.
Without a car, there is limited access to any surrounding towns. There is a bus but it’s relatively infrequent. However, staying in is also great due to the 24 hour...

"I was so glad that i booked this hotel. The location is so convenient. We were able to walk from Minakami station the hotel in 15 mins. They offer drop off at Jomo-Kogen station on the check out day. The front desk ladies are super nice and friendly. They did their best help me, answered my questions. Specially Urada (not sure if i spell it correctly)- She looks like a non-Japanese. She always smile when she see us and tried all her best to answer all my questions about food to skin cares. I think she is the one has better English than the others. The manager should give her a raise.
The room is so clean and look new. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed every minute there. The food was good and a lot. We even skipped lunch, because the Japanese style breakfast was a lot. The hotel is close/walking distance to Family Mart and cute small coffee shops, handmade bread store. I tried the massage at the hotel. They come to your room. It was so relaxing. The room view was so nice. We sat outside balcony deep our feet in the tub and enjoyed the yellow/red leaves and listen to the water run

"We had a wonderful stay at Tanigawa Valley Lodge & Coffee Roastery. The host, Craig, is truly exceptional — friendly, hardworking, and constantly going out of his way to make sure guests feel comfortable and taken care of. The location feels remote in the best possible way, offering a peaceful and authentic Japanese experience surrounded by mountains and nature. And the coffee… wow. Hands down the best coffee we’ve had in Japan. Highly recommended for anyone looking to slow down, relax, and enjoy genuine hospitality."
"Second visit here. Perfect for family getaway with kids in winter. Also good spot for summer when watching Fuji Rock music Festival. Would definitely stay again."
"The staff didn't give accurate information - all the staff were Chinese so both English and Japanese language was not clear. There are 2 separate buildings. It's a very steep hill to the hotel, so it was very tiring to walk carrying luggage. The bath was not available at the time that we stayed. The toilets are small.
But the room was clean, comfortable, and warm. The showers were also hot, but the water pressure was a bit weak.
There are better places to stay in this area."
"Perfect Japanese style room. Definitely recommend for holiday at nearby resorts. But not for anything romantic as it’s a family oriented place. note bathroom and showers are shared and from 5-9pm only. Good for a group or a couple on a quick holiday."
