"It’s an experience we’ll never forget. The torrential rain made the conditions less desirable than they would be, but the friendly owner did everything possible to make the best of it.
The cabin was compact, well appointed and attractively decorated. The two horses in the nearby stable were a welcome added attraction."

"The owner of the property met us as soon as we pulled up to show us a better parking spot, introduce us to his adorable well behaved dogs " Blue was my favorite" and to get us familiar with what the property had to offer. Beautiful little ranch. With two beautiful horses. Our cottage was very quaint and spotless with Roku TV and Netflix which was nice. There was also other nice touches like in room coffee, water, mini muffins and yogurt in the mini fridge. I will definitely plan a future...

"We came for the Scallops! this was such a great location for us. so close to so many of the dining and drinking establishments. Most importantly, the private boat ramp was 4 houses away and never had anyone else at it. this worked out extremely well and we look forward to coming back. "
"The house was perfect for me and my dogs. The fenced in yard was just the right size, and the water behind the house was beautiful. The house was a little hard to find since it's kind of hidden, but access was very easy once the owner helped out. "
"The location is perfect and the house is amazing and well stocked with anything you might need! There were enough kayaks and floats for everyone and I especially loved the paddle board. We saw manatees everyday and the kids (and adults) had a great time just swimming from the dock. The kids loved the upstairs bedroom/game room and felt like they had their own apartment (one of the king bedrooms is also up here). We all had a blast and look forward to staying here again! "
"We had a wonderful stay at Halls River Retreat! The house was spotless, well-equipped, and the host was incredibly responsive and helpful.The home is beautifully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed.The river was clear, cool, and peaceful. Kayaks are launched from the boat-slips in the backyard. We saw all kinds of fish swimming by, a family of river otters at play, and a beautiful eagle flew overhead.We also enjoyed fishing right from the backyard and caught bass and mangrove snappers.Our stay was everything we had hoped for and more!Highly recommend!"

"We walked in to our host and some homemade cookies! Our host gave us a fantastic tour of the home and everything it included. We were on the river from sun up to sun down. We brought our own inner tubes for the kids (bring an electric air pump if you do) and towed them from the kayaks and paddle boards that were out on the dock. There were enough kayaks and paddle boards for all of us so inner tubes aren't necessary our kids just love lazying about the river while we do the work! We don’t mind at all It was a much needed adventure filled vacation! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

"This home is literally perfect. Great location, great amenities, fully stocked. Every time we needed something we just looked and there it was, they had it. Dock is perfect for boats with water electrical storage cleats etc. private boat ramp is clutch. Our friends staying elsewhere fought the public ramp and having our own made the process so easy, we plan to stay here on future trips! Look no further. "

"We had a fantastic weekend stay at this cozy VRBO in Homosassa, Florida! The property was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and perfectly equipped for a relaxing getaway. The location was ideal, close to everything we wanted to explore, yet peaceful enough to really unwind.What really made the stay stand out were the hosts—they were absolutely wonderful! Friendly, responsive, and thoughtful, they went above and beyond to make sure we felt right at home.Whether you’re visiting for the springs, the manatees, or just to recharge, this spot is a gem. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!"

"There are just not enough good things to say about this place. The house is beautiful and well-maintained, there is a full kitchen complete with everything you need to make meals at home, there is a laundry room with supplies to do laundry, there are kayaks and pool floats, and so many more amenities that make this place so amazing. It is a two minute boat ride from the heart of Homosassa Springs, and about a 20 min ride to the ocean. The host, David, is so pleasant to deal with and is wonderful about communication during your stay. I truly cannot recommend this place enough."
Homosassa Riverfront Retreat - Deep Dock - Family Friendly! - Relax & Enjoy!

"We truly need enjoyed our week at this home. The view is beautiful and most of the week it was quiet and peaceful. During the weekend there was a lot of boat traffic but we enjoyed watching that too! We saw manatees almost daily swim by the house and the last 2 days dolphins swam right up along the wall of the property. We had a blue heron that visited us daily whom we named Ricky. He did receive a few snacks from us when he visited. From the deck we caught catfish, a sting ray, gar, a large mouth bass, and 2 sharks! The area has several great restaurants and we enjoyed many of them. It is wonderful that the house comes with kayaks and we did take them out. My only suggestion for those is perhaps some upgraded seating pads to place in them or maybe it is the way those particular tandem kayaks were designed but they are very uncomfortable. The single kayak was great. The house had everything we needed and is spacious. It could use some updating, but it did not effect our comfort or stay. Check out instructions are a little more than typical for cleaning, no cleaning fee. However, if you’re trying to cut out early in morning in front of a very long drive this could delay you. Larger washer is needed to fit all the towels and sheets before departure. Overall, we are glad we selected this home and location. We had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing your home with us. "

"The cottage was very nice and clean! It appeared larger than the pictures. The fenced yard was great for pup! Kitchen adequately stocked, no crockpot, but we knew that before going. No issues with a 24’ boat out back, as long as you have lines & fenders. Needed to launch and park trailer else where. Close to the spring! Mike was quick to respond with communication. Great food at the Freezer and Margarita Grill. The Ice cream Barr was amazing. We had a fun time! Thank you!! "
"Our first attempt, but definitely not our last, at scalloping. We had a great time in Homosassa. Our contact, Nancy, was wonderful. The check-in / out process was super easy and the home was perfect for our party. Two families shared this house and experience together with no issues. It was perfect for us and the dock was suitable for two boats, but we did have to raft off of each other. It is such a beautiful location, the local restaurants and bars were incredible and the people were polite and friendly. There is so much to do if you love the outdoors and water. The only mistake we made was to not stay for a full week. It would have been nice to see more of the local establishments and spend some more time fishing. We mainly stayed in the scallop grounds, but we will extend next years trip to allow us to do more activities.I highly recommend this home and dealing with Nancy is a delightful experience. We will be back."
"Loved the location and convenience! The kids enjoyed fishing off the dock. Would be perfect for someone bringing or renting a boat, very close to springs. Private boat ramp in park. Photos do no justice. Appliances were updated compared to what pictures show. Didn’t see the roof damage as seen in picture either. Has a K-cup/full coffee pot combo (not pictured/specified). Very well stocked with everything we needed and then some. My only mild complaint was there seemed to be some sugar ants between the kitchen window and spice cabinet, but we didn’t use anything in there, so we didn’t let it bother our stay. I would stay there again! "
"The property was very nice and clean. The furniture was nice and comfortable. The decor was so cute. The house had everything you need from a playpen, to high chair to beach umbrellas and towels. It was so convenient having the washer and dryer too! But this is not a 4 bedroom house. It’s a 2 bedroom duplex. They are not connecting. We were expecting at least an opening or doorway like a connecting hotel room. Aside from that everything was great. Michelle, the host, was amazing at answering any questions we had quickly and also quick to call if you had a question. If you don’t mind being separated this is great. We were ok being separated but not what we were expecting. We had a fabulous trip regardless and enjoyed the location. "

"We stayed for a week. So much to do so much fun. The kids never wanted to leave the property. We swam with manatees, paddleboarded, kayaked, fished ,crabbed, went boat riding, ate only one night out at the Margaritta Grill..it is a must do. And came home exhausted, but so full of memeories made! Justin is amazing and so very nice, the house is in a perfect spot even for 4th of july crowds. Thank you for sharing your home!"

"It was a beautiful vacation house! The boat house was so fun for the kids. The doc overlooking the water was a very peaceful spot! The wildlife was very intriguing and cool to look at. The kayaks were also a great attraction! The kitchen was very well stocked and organized. A lot of time was spent in the pool and lots of memories were made. Overall it was a great spot to vacation."

"I am honestly surprised this place was available. The description seemed too good to be true. This is a super unique and amazing place to stay. Being able to kayak down to the Springs and get there early in the morning before crowds is worth it alone. But the house is great, there is a nice little dock with a fire pit (gas) and you see mullet jumping in the river constantly. It is about a 5 minute walk to the wildlife park. This is not Disneyworld. it’s 1000 times better. I am reviewing photos to share and realize all the ones of the dock itself have family members in them. I don’t want to share those, but trust me, it is beautiful. We would definitely go again. "
