9/10 Wonderful! (439 reviews)
A deeply disappointing and humiliating experience.
During our stay in Mumbai, my brother, Vivek and I were sitting quietly by the pool in the morning, talking. We were not in the water or causing any disturbance. The person in charge of the pool asked whether we were hotel guests. I confirmed that we were and provided my room details. He checked my room key three times, even though it worked, and ultimately told us we were not allowed there and had to leave.
I understand that hotels have access policies, but the way we were approached and questioned made me feel judged by my appearance and treated as though I did not belong. Any restriction should be explained clearly and respectfully.
We paid over ₹15,000 for a stay of approximately five hours. This experience left me feeling humiliated. Every guest deserves basic courtesy, regardless of their appearance, background or how much they spend.
I have travelled to several countries and have never experienced treatment like this. It was especially disappointing to experience it in Mumbai, in my own country. I will not return. I urge management to investigate this incident and ensure staff treat guests with dignity.
