Although Rathtrevor Beach is now a well-loved vacation destination, it retains the rugged spirit of its early years. Its name comes from Willian Rath, who in 1886 chose this area as the site of his log cabin. Facilities have improved, particularly since the area was named a provincial park in 1967.
