It is clear the host went out of their way to make visitors comfortable and was very responsive to communication. The location was excellent, the apartment was clean and well maintained. The negatives were little things that could be easily rectified. Unfortunately the elevator was broken during our stay, so we had the carry luggage up about 60 steps, and walk up and down them anytime we left or returned which was quite inconvenient. The apartment had a very strong fake lemon scent that bothered our allergies, so required airing out by keeping the door and windows open. I think it was from laundry detergent and/or fabric softener. The shower was excellent but the shower floor needs a mat as it is quite slippery. There is a wine/tapas restaurant across the alleyway whose patrons were easily heard if the windows were open. That meant we couldn’t keep them open for the lovely evening breeze if we retired before 10pm. Finally, the pillows were too firm, almost hard. But I would stay here again if the elevator is repaired as overall it was a nice place and ideal location walkable to everything Porto has to offer.
