"We decided to stay at Burg Rabenstein for one evening in a trip around Germany, and it was well worth the stop. The castle and its grounds were beautiful. There is a local cave and falconry on-site; however, they were both closed for the winter (we visited in December). "The hotelier is at best unfriendly and in our experience hostile and incompetent. Even though we had prepaid with Expedia he wanted payment direct. We decided to pay again in order to check out without issue but he said none of our credit cards worked having tried several and he wanted cash. He threatened us with the police. "The room was very quiet, even on the night that there was a huge, loud party going on in the ground floor restaurant and bar. We never ate in the hotel so cannot comment on that. Location in right next to the city hall on a pedestrian mall. No easy parking. Walkable from train station. Very clean and comfortable rooms. No desk staff until midday."
