Most places offer coffee and a baked good. "I regret that I did not have a chance to try out the restaurant, and the in-room capsule coffeemaker was not a success, but the internet connection was good, the room was quiet, and the hotel itself was in an excellent location, especially for St. Jakob Stadium. Check-in and check out were very quick, and I paid extra for a balcony, which was well worth the money. It was a great place to relax and have some coffee, and the nice accordion glass doors and windows sealed out the noise at night. Nearby grocery stores, cafes, a bakery, a handy mini-mart, and easy access to trams downtown. I walked to the stadium in 20 minutes along the little river. I travel with a dog, and we were glad there was a lift in the building. There is a fee of 15 CHF per night for a dog, which I think is a bit steep, but I understand that we are all paying for all the dogs that may or may not be well behaved in hotels. "

"Quiet, clean, spacious - brilliant stay. Stayed in female four bed dorm in this interestingly designed hostel. The only comment I’d have is that the dorm rooms are so big the beds could probably be individually set out, rather than stacked as bunks. To save the squeaking of top bunks and steps etc. "

"Fantastic Stay – Spacious, Comfortable, and Great Location I absolutely loved my stay at Aparthotel Adagio Access Saint Louis Bâle! The room was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable for three people — we never felt cramped at all. The beds (including the sofa bed) were cozy, and we all slept really well throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the fully equipped kitchen. It had everything we needed to cook simple meals, which was both convenient and budget-friendly. The entire room, including the bathroom, was very clean and well-maintained — it felt fresh and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The location is excellent. The tram station is just a short walk away, making it super easy to reach Basel and explore the area. There are also shops, bakeries, and restaurants nearby, which made everything even more convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick, and they provided us with all the info we needed for the local transport system. The hotel is in a peaceful neighborhood, so we enjoyed a quiet and relaxing atmosphere at night. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which was important for us. Overall, this place really felt like a home away from home. It's perfect for families, couples, or small groups looking for comfort, space, and good value near the Swiss border. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!"

"Some rooms only have partial lift access, so you may need to manually carry your luggage up a flight of stairs or so - but it’s a great, economical base in Basel that’s totally worth the effort. The room is pop-modern, simple but clean and highly functional layout, with a comfortable pillow and duvet and thoughtful amenities that make you feel well looked after without excess. The staff are very professional and friendly, assisting with check-in, and self-checkout is available via the email notification you receive. I’d be very happy to book again."

"A very basic hotel near Zurich. Absolutely bare-bones furnishing (with not even a glass in the bathroom or bedroom!). The hotel bed was rather uncomfortable...making a good night's sleep difficult as well. Suitable only for highly price-conscious travelers for 1 or 2 nights. Further, the hotel seems to have very poor systems. At every step of check-in and check-out, they wanted me to pay City tax extra, which had already been paid at the time of booking. I had to call their Helpline every time to explain and then they would let me proceed. "
