There's so much to do in Trade Center, but venture farther afield and you'll find even more magic. Pick up a set of wheels and you can discover the surrounding area at your own pace. Add these awesome places to your to-do list:

• Make your way to Abu Dhabi for a fun-filled sightseeing adventure. Approximately 75 miles from Trade Center, it's home to tons of cool attractions such as Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
• Roughly 60 miles away, Ras Al Khaimah is also a hit with travelers. Allow time to check out Shimal while you're here. It's one of the reasons people love visiting this buzzing city.
• Head to Sir Bani Yas Island Beach to discover some local nature. Take a picnic to enjoy or just chill out in the fresh air. From Trade Center, it's roughly 180 miles away.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in United Arab Emirates, then it's likely you'll need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be able to rent a car. You should also be aware that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll be asked to show your current license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card you used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some other things to note for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be at least 25 in most places to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the fine print before driving away. Typically, you can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or on off-road areas with a rental vehicle.
