Hebei is full of adventures, but don't restrict yourself to only one place. Arrange a set of wheels and hit the open road to explore the surrounding area. Here are some places to consider:

• Head off to Beijing for an excellent sightseeing adventure. Approximately 65 miles from Hebei, it's home to lots of cool sights like Great Wall of China.
• Your next pit stop? It has to be Fangshan, which is around 80 miles away. Peking Man at Zhoukoudian is one local draw card you shouldn't miss.
• Bishu Shanzhuang is around 130 miles from Hebei and is one of the region's most gorgeous nature spots. Stretch your legs and enjoy the fresh air.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in China, then it's likely you'll need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car. It's also important to note that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll be asked to show your current license your passport and other forms of ID as well.
