After you've checked out all of the well-known attractions in Jung-gu, there's more to explore in the surrounding region. Collect the keys to a rental car, stow your luggage in the trunk and hit the open road. These are some road trips you're sure to love:

• You'll discover Jeonju Hanok Village and loads of other interesting attractions in Jeonju. From Jung-gu, it's roughly 120 miles away.
• Next stop? Consider Gangneung, which is around 110 miles away. Jeongdongjin Beach is one local hot spot you won't want to miss.
