There are so many things to do in Los Angeles, but venture farther afield and you'll find more sightseeing magic. Arrange a set of wheels and you can roam around the surrounding area at your own speed. Add these awesome destinations to your travel plan:

• Guanajuato is approximately 80 miles from Los Angeles. Popular tourist spots like Juarez Theater deserve a place on your must-see list here.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Mexico, then you might need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car. You should also be aware that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll have to show your current license your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card you used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some other things to note to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be at least 25 in many countries to rent a car. If you're younger, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
