Breakfast expensive € 14 a day restaurant was no so good to eat dinner one time a got raw grilled chicken. It better to take a taxi and go to old town to eat. Room was very clean and good taken care of. Staff was nice and helpful but sometimes a little lacking of understanding English well.

Comfortable relaxed environment. Breakfast can get a little busy early doors but if you have time to sleep in then its more than comfortable. Locally good shopping at the shopping center, great foodhall, various shopping opportunities. Locally some good bars within walking distance or a simple Bolt taxi into Riga itself can be promising.

Excellent option not too far from the airport.

Excellent option not too far from the airport and on the right side of town to avoid traffic in the morning. The area however doesn’t have too much to offer and it's a bit of a way from the centre. I experienced the bed as too hard but it might just have been me. The restaurant was excellent as was the bar, useful given few other options in the immediate vicinity. There’s a spa with massage but you need to book ahead so I didn’t experience it. Big room, comfortable and quiet.

Nice hotel for a mini vacation

I had a nice stay at Rixwell Elefant. Before arrival I had emailed the hotel inquiring about a specific room which I was happy to get. Any question I had they could help with. The bed was unfortunately a bit broken, so I didn't sleep that well. Room 204.

Trying to find this hotel at night was impossible there is no clear signage so ended up driving past three times. The reception staff were rude and didn’t feel welcomed at all. The breakfast was ok and to be fair the staff members at breakfast and check out were pleasant. Also hate when you don’t have a iron in the room!

At first, I considered giving the hotel two stars, but that did not feel entirely fair. So here is a more complete review of the hotel. Pros: Very good value for money. You really do get a lot for what you pay. I noticed when I was considering to book this hotel, that several people mentioned in their reviews the hotel being far outside the city centre. This is not really an issue. It is conveniently located within a short walking distance of several bus stops, with buses going both to the city centre and the airport. It is close to the SPICE shopping centre with shops, cafés, and restaurants. Clean hotel, spacious rooms, and comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Cons: The hotel is located near a main road, so depending on which side of the hotel your room is on, there can be quite a lot of traffic noise. Unfortunately, my room was on the second floor, directly above the restaurant. There is an open layout leading up to the second floor, almost like an open balcony or corridor, so you can hear a lot of noise from the restaurant below in addition to the traffic outside. I am not sure whether there was a special event taking place while I was there, but the hotel was fully booked. The noise until 3 a.m. was absolutely awful. Would I stay here again? Yes, probably. The hotel is affordable, clean, and in a good location. However, next time I would definitely request a room away from the restaurant and preferably not on the second floor.
