Excellent!

This was a great find! The location was fantastic by the Spanish Steps and the apartment, quiet and relaxing. The roof top deck is also a beautiful garden and has lovely views of Rome. We loved all the restaurant recommendations! I would stay again.

Wonderful location!

Krista, the property manager, was very friendly and provided us with endless information regarding tours, restaurants, etc. The location of this unit was amazing. We were walking distance to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, restaurants, stores, etc. Taxis were always available just outside the unit. Rooftop was gorgeous. Rooms are comfortable, and unit was very well stocked. Air conditioners worked well, and beds were comfortable! Thank You, Krista!

Spectacular terrace and location

We stayed three nights and the location was perfect. Taxi stand right outside the door and proximity to shopping was great. The owners were very pleasant and accommodating. The reason we didn't score this higher is becausr access to the apartment is complicated with 4 different doors to unlock/lock and with one set of keys, our family needed to arrive/depart together. Best for family with children as the apartment is quite small with small common area. However, the terrace is spectacular (did I say that already) and we would stay again for that alone!

Doesn't get any better!

First, Krista's communications from the day we RSVP'd to our arrival was amazing. The location of this apartment was unbelievable- you can throw a ball and hit the Spanish Steps , turn to your left and see the sun set over St Peters, turn a little more to see Mary Maggiore Church. Close to everything you need- amazing food, shopping and sightseeing. 5 minute walk to the Trevi Ftn, about a 25 minute walk to St Peters- The apartment was wonderfully furnished- but the terrace had me up there all the time for sunrise and sunsets.

I really can't say enough great things about this location, the apartment itself, the views from the roof and Krista the owner/manager. Krista is such an amazing host. She responds in minutes to questions. it's really quite impressive. An awesome super clean and organized apartment. And it really is about 10-20 meters from the base of the Spanish Steps. I can't wait to book again in the future!

Great Host!!

Unbelievable location and host! The rooftop and location is what sold us on this rental. Great veiws from the rooftop for late night dinners, cocktails, wine and conversations. It doesn't necessarily have a large room for gatherings just a larger room/dining room. the kitchen is basically in the hallway in a large cupbord but it is functional. It has a very small fridge with a tiny freezer area that is not a very good ice maker for my fellow American ice lovers. Overall though outstanding!

Unique place in great location!

We enjoyed this place despite the very complicated entry requiring five keys (but the listing explains this). Not for people with mobility problems! AC was excellent, beds comfortable, two good bathrooms. But no ample 'common area,' only a tiny kitchen. Small kitchenette which we used for coffee only. Location is excellent and not too far from parking garage (Ludovico) that was surprisingly inexpensive (20 euros for 24 hours, cheap!) Roof terrace accessible and very nice. Good as a home base for touring Rome and only fifty yards from Bernini's "Sunken Boat!" Plenty of good restaurants, cafes and upscale shops very near. Laundry machine brand new and worked well. Hostess very gracious.Very quiet!

Beautiful location in Rome!

Excellent location - directly by Spanish Steps with beautiful rooftop terrace. 3 min walk to grocery store, 2-4 minutes to street filled with gelato and tiramisu stores, restaurants and cafes. Take out homemade spaghetti 3 minutes walk. Metro also within 3 minutes. 24h Taxi stand directly in front of entrance - so easy $50 transport from and to airport. We walked to all major attractions except Catacombes but easy to reach by bus. Host very responsive and knowledgeable. Apartment very clean. We are hoping to return soon! Only reason I would caution is if you can not walk stairs easily as discussed in previous review. I was glad to walk off the extra gelato every night :)

A view of the Spanish Steps from the rooftop

From the moment we arrived, Krista was welcoming and so accommodating! She transferred our luggage up the elevator and through her apartment to avoid us having to carry them over the rooftop terrace! The entrances and exits were well explained and very helpful. Any minor issue was addressed immediately and with great care and concern for our benefit. Although the apartment is small, the bedrooms were very comfortable and the rooftop terrace is an exceptional benefit, where the view is incomparable and the location central to so much in Rome! Krista and her husband enjoyed sharing their hospitality. We will certainly stay again in the future if our travels bring us back to Rome.

Roof Top at the Spanish Steps

We just completed our stay in Rome at this wonderful apt. The two best features are it's excellent location next to the Spanish Steps and the roof top terrace overlooking Rome. Every evening we would have a bottle of wine, cheese and olives and admire the view along with the abundant roses and fruit trees on the terrace. Elio has quite the green thumb. The two bedroom and two bath apt was ideal. The kitchen is a little small but very functional for our needs. Since you are in a busy area you need to expect some night time and early morning noise. Krista and Elio are very helpful hosts, pointing out local restaurants and markets to make our stay simple and comfortable. Thank you again for our stay in your city.

Exceptionally Enjoyable!

Last week my wife, two great friends and myself had the distinct pleasure of staying three nights at this superb apartment. Our stay was absolutely perfect, from the kind, courteous, and very friendly owner and manager Ms. Peduto, to the comfortable rooms and unbelievable terrace and views from the terrace. We had the pleasure of chatting with Ms. Peduto a few times during our stay and she was very approachable and went out of her way to ensure that our stay was exceptional. If you are going to Rome for the first time or the 50th time this location is perfect for shopping or access to all of the historical treasures of Rome and is located in the Valentino building next to the Spanish Steps. Taxis are available at the square outside of the building or you can walk to everything. Thank you Ms. Peduto we shall return again and again.

Great Place - Perfect Hosts!

My Wife, Myself, and our 11 year old son stayed here the week of June 15th 2014 - I found the apartment to be a perfect match for us and Krista is Fabulous! The apartment is comfortable, clean, and has adequate room for up to four people. It was well equipped furniture wise and the rooftop garden was spectacular. The location is Great, we walked almost everywhere and there is everything you could want within a couple of blocks - when a cab (taxi) was needed, there is a cab stop literally less than a 100 yards away! Some people may not like climbing the stairs but it didn't bother us at all. Our luggage was delayed and Krista helped out by calling the airlines daily and keeping us up to date! She Seriously went above and beyond and I greatly appreciate her help. I will stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Perfect location

You couldn't ask for a better location to see the historic sights of Rome, or for shopping, dining, etc. The apartment was comfortable and secure, but the entry process is a little cumbersome (take the lift to the top floor, exit to the roof, walk up and over the roof, down a flight of another set of stairs; or walk up 5 flights of stairs on the other side of the building). Also, it can be loud at night. Trash collection kept us up most of one night. But that's to be expected in any city center, I suppose. Overall, those are minor complaints. The apartment had everything we needed, the hosts were very friendly and unobtrusive. I'd have no problems staying here again if we return to Rome.

Rooftop Deck steals the show

Stayed at Krista's apt with another couple from 8/29-9/2. The apt was clean and furnished comfortably. The views over Rome were amazing and the location in the Spanish Steps neighborhood is perfect for exploring Rome. We are pretty active couples and walked to all here major attractions, never used cabs or subway. Rome is such an intersting place waking uncovers hidden surprise you might miss otherwise. Krista was a great host and provided a nice introduction to Rome and offered sightseeing and dining suggestions. A couple of things to note; the kitchen is a very small galley style unit in the hallway so if you are planning to cook most meals it may be limiting, also mattresses are pretty hard per US standards which seemed to be the norm in several of the apts we rented on our trip. If I am looking for a 2bd/2ba vacation apt in Rome again Krista will be my first call!

Great location and value for the money, but a bit noisy.

There are so many reviews for this apartment, I’ll try not to be too repetitive. Things I liked: Good-sized bedrooms, comfy beds (but uncomfortable pillows), two bathrooms, good location, photos/description matched apartment, wonderful views from huge deck, attentive host, the washing machine was very convenient as was having a taxi stand right downstairs and metro close by. Things I didn’t like: It’s pretty noisy, since in a popular area with two restaurants just below the bedrooms. I’d be woken up multiple times each night by outside noises, but the trash pickup(?) was especially loud most mornings between 6-7am, so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Also, the room didn’t get dark enough for me, so eye shades are also helpful. The deck was huge with great views, but I think I missed that it was on a separate floor/not attached to the apartment, so you had to go out the front door, climb up a flight of stairs to get to the door to the deck. That also meant I didn’t want to leave my niece alone and w/o keys downstairs while I was on the deck. With that and the July heat, we didn’t use it very much. Other than the deck, there was minimal common area—just a small/somewhat cramped eating area vs a living room, so when my niece and I wanted to relax and cool down between outings, we were in our separate bedrooms, which wasn’t ideal. If your group wants to split up at some point, you’ll need to ask for another set of keys. To Consider: If you can’t do stairs at all, this apartment won’t work for you. It’s a straight six floors (US) walk-up from the street, or you enter from around the corner for the elevator, then through a door to a landing, then up more stairs to the main deck (just over 20 steps), then back in another door and down about 20 steps to the apartment. The owner was kind enough to take our luggage all the way up to the apartment via her unit, which is attached to this unit, so didn’t have to carry luggage up/down stairs. I originally booked a more luxurious apartment, but when we had to change dates, that was was not available. This one was significantly less expensive—half the price—so doesn’t seem fair to rate it based on what I would have expected if I paid more. I went back and forth on 4 vs 5 stars, but for the value, I went with 5. Overall, it’s a good apartment at a very good price, assuming the downsides aren’t deal breakers for you.

Disappointed with owner - dishonest

Bottom line up front is the landlord lied and didn’t allow us to use the air conditioning the first night. Even when her advertisement stated, “well chilled” rooms and air conditioners in every bedroom. She was very dishonest and actually , I am convinced, lied when I asked her if we could use the air conditioning. She said that due to the Ukraine/Russia war, it was against the law to use air conditioning in personal residences unless the temp was above a specified level. Little did she know, my son stayed in another unit just down the street 5 days prior and was able to use air conditioning with zero issues. I did research and found she lied in order to, I believe, save on energy costs. There were rules for public buildings/etc but not residences, based on everything I read. If she would have been honest, I would have at least understood. These are not cheap units, you expect to be comfortable. Also, she makes you feel stupid when you ask for air conditioning and (she thinks) the temperatures do not warrant. And don’t let her fool you, the temp did get down to 66 F at night but, the temps got to around 90 during the day, this is a top floor unit that gets much direct sun exposure and the unit gets warm inside and doesn’t cool down, at night, to the temps outside. I asked her for fans and she provided 2. Fans were not enough and we were very uncomfortable the first night. We opened windows but the crowd and traffic noise did not allow rest very well. The location is fantastic and the accommodations are adequate to good. You get the hang of this pretty quick but be prepared for a maze to get to your room, a fair amount of effort doing so, and about 5 keys to open the multiple door of said maze. You have to unlock and enter a door to complex from street, unlock and open door to the building your room is in, get in a small elevator to your floor(or walk up 5 floors), go down a hallway and unlock door to the top terrace of building, go up some stairs and over to another door you have to unlock and open. Go down a flight of stairs to the door of your unit that, of coarse, you unlock and enter. Very confusing at first but after a few iterations, you get the hang of it. Not easily accessible to say the least. When I confronted her on day 2 of these facts, she allowed us to use the air conditioning.

Die 5 Tage in Rom, in dem Appartement direkt neben der spanischen Treppe waren toll. Das Appartement ist schön, wenn man keine übertriebenen Luxusansprüche hat, die Dachterrasse mit Rundumblick über Rom und die Superlage, mittendrin, vieles zu Fuß erreichbar, entschädigt für alles andere, was nicht so ganz passt. Wir wollten eigentlich zu viert reisen, waren dann aber doch nur 3 alte Frauen, was gut war, denn die 2 Schlafzimmer mit einem Doppelbett und 2 Einzelbetten hätten uns vielleicht Probleme gemacht (in unserem Alter (um die 70) will man sich nicht mehr ein Doppelbett teilen. Aber so war alles gut. Unsere Vermieterin war ausgesprochen freundlich, hat uns gute Tipps gegeben und alles war einwandfrei sauber. Das Fazit: für Besucher mit nicht so großen Ansprüchen zu empfehlen.
