"Very warm welcome and nice huts In a really wild part of South Africa. Excellent and generously portioned food. Only downside is the drive to get there; the property is a good hour of dirt track off the main road and the drive is hairy. It should be only recommended for people work a utility or 4wd. "

"Nice facility, although it may s quite old, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. There is a wood stove which they provided wood for and it warmed the place up quite nicely. The kitchen could be better stocked if you were to stay there for a few days but it has the basics. I would stay again if in the area."

Andelomi Nature's Rest

Andelomi Nature's Rest

8/10 Good
"Our room was very large so there's plenty of space to spread out. The twin beds would be better with thicker mattresses. The satellite tv channels in our room didnt work and the wifi was so slow it was unusable, though it was fine in the public areas. Breakfast was buffet style and very good."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Sanddrif?
The best area to stay in Sanddrif is directly within the Cederberg Wilderness Area, specifically around the Sanddrif Holiday Resort or nearby private farm stays.

Staying within the Cederberg Wilderness Area is ideal for travelers seeking a nature-focused retreat. This area is characterized by dramatic sandstone formations, ancient rock art sites, and a variety of hiking trails. The Sanddrif Holiday Resort, for example, is situated near the Dwarsrivier farm and offers direct access to attractions like the Maltese Cross and the Stadsaal Caves. It's a convenient base for exploring the region's natural beauty.

For active couples and families, this location is perfect. You'll find opportunities for rock climbing, stargazing, and swimming in natural rock pools.
When is the best time to go to Sanddrif?
The best time to visit Sanddrif is during the dry season, which runs from May to October, as this period offers the most pleasant weather for outdoor activities.

During these months, the weather is typically mild and sunny, with cooler evenings. This makes it ideal for exploring the surrounding natural landscapes, including hiking trails and wildlife viewing opportunities in the nearby reserves. The lack of rain also means that roads and trails are generally in better condition.

For travelers interested in wildlife, especially birdwatching, the dry season is particularly good. Animals tend to congregate around water sources, making them easier to spot.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Sanddrif.
How much is the nightly rate at a Sanddrif hotel?
Prices for hotels in Sanddrif often vary, but you can find a great deal from $73 on Expedia. All sorts of factors affect price, such as the time of year or the days of the week you choose for your stay.
