"We loved staying at Mikansei! Our room was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed ourselves in the shared spaces, including the kitchen, bathrooms, and communal areas. Our hosts, Claire and Shiro, were incredibly gracious, sharing their knowledge about the Oi river valley and Japan in general, as well as their time, and taking an interest in their guests. They gave us some great advice on making a our day trip up the valley on the Oigawa Railway even better, and invited us to a group dinner / cooking class with other house guests and as a friend from the village. We felt very welcome and taken care of. This is such a beautiful area to explore, and Mikansei made a perfect home base. I only wish we'd had more time there."
"The room was clean, and front desk staff was extremely friendly. The only minus was the breakfast staff that said in a tone that was pushy and said they were closing soon . I replied there is still 30 minutes left before the end of ‘breakfast’ and that is plenty of time. ( it was a continental breakfast, breads and drinks only, self serve)."
"Amazing cleanliness and maybe the best location to both train stations. The hallways had a musty odor but the room had an AC and air purifier. Bathtub was large, bed very comfortable. Several outlets for charging. Hundreds of restaurants within 1-5 minutes walking. Malls and shopping everywhere including a huge grocery store under the main bus station. I went to the local fish market and had amazing fresh tuna sashimi and "
"Very nice hotel a couple of blocks away from the station. Lots of dining options around, as well as nearby 7-Elevens. Breakfast was a choice of two options cooked there and then - very tasty ! I arrived before check-in and staff were happy to let me leave my bags in hotel so I could explore the city. Would be happy to stay at this hotel again."
