Great place for a family vacation

Stayed here with my Husband and 3 year old daughter and had a great time. Perfect location on the water. The place was clean and Marc was easy to communicate with.

Nice Spot To Relax

Had a great time at this property. Very quiet and relaxing area. The view onto the river is great. Marc was very responsive with a couple of questions we had during our stay.

Beautiful Guest House in Sault St Marie

The house is immaculate and equipped with everything you need or want. It is beautifully decorated. The beds and bedding are luxurious. The property is amazing. We spent a lot of time on the swing by the St Mary’s River watching freighters cruise ships and all kinds of pleasure boats and jet ski. I enjoyed watching the ducks and birds. Definitely 5 stars!!

Best Place on the River!

This location is perfect for boat watching. The perfect size for a couple people. Great patio to sit in the sun and read or chat. Very cool fire feature for the evenings too!

Beautiful view & relaxing scenery

The view of the river was so nice in the evenings to watch the sunset. There was great star gazing, and we were able to see some meteors as well. The property was well-managed, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Riverside Retreat

Came up to the Soo for hockey state championship. Not wanting to stay 4 days in a hotel we took a chance on a Vrbo. Riverside Retreat did not disappoint and exceeded our expectations! Comfy, cozy, view was exceptional. Location was perfect and Marc was an attentive host!Great weekend overall!

Wonderful Relaxing Experience

We had a lovely time. The property was so well thought out and exceptionally clean. The stay was very quiet and the location was amazing. We were able to watch several lakers on the St Marys River. Would highly recommend and stay again. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!

Beautiful accommodations. Great view of freighters from the living room. Since weather was cool, this was very comfortable. Spent 2 days, watching freighters, never left. Marc was an outstanding host!One minor complaint, outdoor furniture was dirty. I understand how difficult it is to maintain, but how about all weather, waterproof furniture?I definitely would book again!

Second time staying here. Beds are comfortable. We feel right at home. Kitchen has everything you need. The river was pretty active with freighters.

Relaxing at it's best!!

What a fantastic stay at Riverside Retreat! Everything was well stocked from the bathrooms to the kitchen. The location was perfect and we all enjoyed sitting outside to watch the ships that went by. Many nights we were up much later than usual waiting for just one more ship to go by! I have already recommended the property to multiple friends and would love to stay again sometime.

It's a very nice place to stay.

Stayed with my family and all of us enjoyed our stay there. Wish the property was available for a longer time - we could get it only for 2 nights. Marc has kept everything in the property that someone would need to stay. Just bring our toothbrush and clothes, rest of the things are all there. We enjoyed the fire-pit, the sauna, the grill and kayaking.

Perfect getaway to relax and explore

This was the perfect spot for our first trip to Sault Ste. Marie. The home was extremely welcoming and we could immediately tell it was freshly cleaned. The view of the passing boats was incredible. My family enjoyed seeing them all pass through the day. This location was great for outdoor hikes, local shopping and dining. I highly recommend! Like previous reviews have stated it did feel like home. Thank you!

Relaxing by the River

The unit was exactly as advertised and extremely clean. We stayed with our two adult children and enjoyed the freighter traffic on the river. The unit was a perfect home base for touring the sights and sounds of the UP as it was only (1hr) from Mackinac Island (1.5hr) from Whitefish Point and (2hrs) from Pictured Rocks. Marc was a great host readily available for any questions or help. We will definitely stay here again.

Great location and clean

Saw some freighters go by on the river. Two bald eagles hanging out in the tree you can see from the front living room. Looking up you keep telling yourself, "Oh, that's Canada right there!" Would recommend this property to anyone and would stay again. Listing says it sleeps 6 and has two bedrooms. It does sleep six, but it only has one bedroom. That is why only 4 stars for accuracy of online listing.

Lovely fall weekend

Great property- clean, well equipped. The owner Marc was quick to bring minor supplies (they were there, I just didn’t find them) and friendly. Fantastic location! My husband loved watching the ships go by right out the large patio windows and the moon over the river was breathtaking. Very short drive to downtown Sault Ste. Marie with shops and restaurants and not far from Tahquamenon Falls which was lovely - but the best part was the scenic highway bavk from the falls to Sault Ste. Marie, if you stay in fall do not miss it- the colors were amazing! Will recommend to family and friends.
