Private Beach Access with beautiful water view between Sequim & Port Angeles

Your health and safety comes first to us! We are using products approved by the CDC to eradicate any lingering germs, bacteria, and viruses. We are taking extra precautions by ensuring all commonly touched surfaces are wiped down completely. The linens, towels, bed sheets, etc. are washed per manufacturers guidelines. We are also stocking our home with essential disinfectants and supplies to help you follow the CDC’s guidelines. We look forward to welcoming you to our property and hosting your stay.

The Hideaway Hut is a quiet, comfortable home away from home and will be a place you will want to return to again and again. It is conveniently located mid way between two main towns on the North Olympic Peninsula, Sequim and Port Angeles. It is hidden away at the end of a road in the best kept local secret; a very small, award-winning community over looking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It has a unique access to the beach via a five minute hiking trail along a creekside which forms a lagoon at the end before spilling into the Strait. Beachcombing is a must on this special stretch of beach. Wildlife watching and photographing is a part of the entire experience here. The deer will be seen just outside your window and the eagles will be perched in the trees as you enjoy the views of the water.
The queen bed is very comfortable with a pillow-top mattress and extra sleeping accommodations for two are in the leather sleeper-sofa in the main living area. You will get a wonderful night's sleep with the quiet surroundings and the sounds of the waves lapping against the shore.

You will share our private beach trail with our other guests at Hunters' Gate Homes. It is a gated, five minute hike with some large steps which are not easily navigated by small children or inexperienced hikers. Once down to the bottom you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach where the fresh creek water forms a lagoon that spills out into the salt water Strait of Juan de Fuca. You can walk and beach comb to the Dungeness Spit or head in a westerly direction toward Port Angeles.

The quaint little neighborhood store, Agnew Grocery & Feed, is only a five minute drive away, offering fresh local produce and a large selection of wine and other refreshments besides the basic grocery items. Sunny Farms Country Store is only ten minutes away where you'll find a larger variety of items including a deli and a fresh fish and meat market.

There are four restaurants all within a ten minute drive which are all highly recommended. If you want to venture further away, both Sequim and Port Angeles each only a twenty minute drive offer many more choices for shopping and dining.

The start of the road up to Hurricane Ridge and the Olympic National Park is a short twenty minute drive. You can plan longer day trips to the Pacific Ocean and the Hoh Rainforest and return after your adventure to our quiet, restful, tranquil treasure, the Hideaway Hut.

Beautiful Scenery, extremely quiet neighborhood.
Property was located at the end of a quiet road. Felt very removed from day to day hassles. Had everything one could possibly think of or need for a relaxing stay. Deer greeted us on every hike, eagles and otters did their thing on the beach. We watched a marvelous storm roll in over the sound one evening. Has all you need for an Olympic Peninsula adventure.

Great Base Camp to Explore the Peninsula
Truly enjoyed our stay. Felt at home right away in this cozy cottage. Well-appointed with everything you might have forgotten. Loved sitting on the bench looking out at the Straights and Port Angeles using the provided binoculars. Made several trips down the bluff to the beach, which is an adventure in itself! The beach is incredible, except for the deers and bald eagle, we were the only ones ever there. Perfect place for couples that aren’t afraid of taking a well maintained but steep inclined path to the beach.

We loved the quiet of this home and walking spots. We went to a lot of national forest/park from here. Bald Eagle perches, beach overlooks, and a great sunset view (both in the house and on nearby walks).

Adorable, highly functional cottage with amazing views.
I loved this house and would like to return again sometime. We ended up checking out early and I struggled with VRBO's interface to let the property manager know as a courtesy. To be fair, I did not look for the number in the onsite information book. We love fresh air and the unit had many windows that opened. Loved it!

Great location and stay
The property was really nice. You had a great view of the ocean and sunsets were so pretty there. The place was exactly how it was described and was a short drive to the visitor entrance of Olympic but secluded enough. Enjoyed our stay.

Perfect for our vacation!
The Hideaway Hut was absolutely perfect for our visit to the Pacific Northwest. It was well appointed with anything and everything we needed. It had amazing views of the Strait, we watched the eagles (3) tend to their nest every morning, watched one of the fawns bed down in the shrubbery. We really enjoyed the trail to the beach. We would love to visit again sometime!

Cozy and comfortable
We enjoyed our stay at the Hideaway Hut. The location is great, secluded, NO traffic, neat, well kept, and beautiful and overlooking the Strait of San Juan. It was an easy drive to Port Angeles, Olympic National Park, the ferry to Victoria. The furniture is comfortable, the bed is cozy and there are windows galore. We loved it.

Wish we could have spent more time there . . .
The Hideaway Hut was a perfect retreat for us on our trip to Olympic. The spot was beautiful and views of the Strait were amazing. We were gone all day every day we were there so didn't really get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked. My only suggestion (and this is not a complaint in any way) is that having some coffee/tea on site so folks don't have to stop at the grocery store and buy coffee that they may not ultimately use would be a great perk to offer. Again, not a complaint at all, but would be super nice to provide. Overall, this is a great base for you trip to the Olympic National Park area; we couldn't recommend it any higher! Thanks.

Plenty of space in the house, great bed and incredible towels. We are looking to buy the same towels for our house. Wished there had been a tv in the living room to watch while enjoying the fireplace.

A Cabin with a View!!!
The Hideaway Hut itself has everything you need when away from home. Plenty of towels, blankets, extra pillows, cooking necessities, etc. It was very comfortable for the two of us. The directions and ease of checkin made arriving a cinch and when you park beside it and look out, you’ll be treated to beautiful view of the Strait de Juan Fucha and outlying towns along its coast. The sunsets were incredible and you’ll be treated to seeing a bald eagle and multiple black tail deer nearby. And once inside, you’ll be treated to cute creatures of another kind! (A collection of the owners).
