It's about an hour by train (train station is about a 10-minute walk) to most attractions in Barcelona. Maria was a very gracious host as we had some challenges with our transportation to get to the apartment. Many bars and places to eat in downtown and right on the beach, which is a 2-minute walk from the apartment. My suggestions would be more towels, we had (2) each for a week's stay. If you use the dryer, beware its self-contained meaning you have to remove the drawer in the top left corner and empty the water when it gets full, which happens quickly. But GREAT to have laundry in the unit. I would also have top sheets on the beds. The comforter in the master was very heavy and warm. LOVED the (2) bathrooms. Also read the instructions on the remote-controlled blinds. LOL - Trust me that helps. Very clean and well equipped apartment with everything a family could need for a comfortable stay. Location was perfect, just slightly out of the centre to afford peace and quiet but easy walking distance to shops/restaurahts/train station and the hotel (had a conference). Comfortable beds and nice linens. So much attention to detail in the decor but not so much in amenities. On arrival we discovered that there was no hand soap in the dispensers or laundry detergent, which they soon provided. There was no detergent for the dishwasher and no extra garbage bags. When we asked for these, we were told that only the “basics were provided”, so we had to go out and buy our own. Also, we just about ran out of toilet paper as there were only a few rolls provided for a five night stay. The patio door lock did not work and was not addressed when mentioned. We used a broomstick to keep it secure (not that it was a huge concern).
