The apartment is located in the second historic center of Syracuse. Compared to Ortigia, 1.1 km away, which can be covered in about 20 minutes on foot, it enjoys the advantage of free parking right under the house at any time of the day. Ortigia can be reached with the "Siracusadamare" line 2 shuttle service operating every day or with the AST public service lines 1, 2, 3 and 4. See the "puntozerosiracusa" website for more info.
The area offers the greatest concentration of attractions in Syracuse. A few minutes walk starts with a visit to the Neapolis Archaeological Park, which includes, among others, the Greek Theater, the Ear of Dionysus and the Roman Amphitheater. In the same route we find the Paolo Orsi Archaeological Museum, the Sanctuary of the Madonnina delle Lacrime, the Catacombs of San Giovanni and the newly renovated Church of the same name. In the opposite direction, always a few minutes on foot, we find the Latomie dei Cappuccini and, overlooking the sea of Syracuse, the Monument to the Fallen.
