Peaceful Rural Setting

The house is comfortable, private and rustic with an open plan dining and living room which opens out to a large deck with sail. Fireplace and infinity hot water. Shower and separate toilet. Spacious and fully fenced grounds for the kids to run around. Surrounded by native bush and a dairy farm, enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay. Carport and ample parking.

With a short drive to Te Horo and Otaki beach, as well as the Otaki outlet shops and cafes. Only 1 hour drive from Wellington Ferry Terminal for those passing through and needing a stopover. Many recreational activities on your doorstep with Otaki Forks where you can walk and swim. Also the local museum, pool and Lavender Creek Farm.

Exactly what was needed

Such a great stay, thank you. Read some of the background on the place. Strange but true, I grew up in Naenae between the early 60's to the early 70's.

Great bach

We had a great stay here. Felt right at home from the minute we took our shoes off at the back door. Clean and tidy. Awesome space for the kids to get outside and sunny deck for the grown ups.

Another awesome stay

All 3 of us (2 humans and 1 dog) loved it! Always a great place to stay in Te horo and we keep coming back! Owners have amazing communication.

It was quiet and made me feel at home and our dog loved it too. Lovely and clean and the native bush behind the house made for a nice little walk. Beautiful yummy plums too. I also loved the fact that there was no wifi our kids sat out and watched tv with us it was like being back in the old days when I was a kid lol 👍😁

The Country Retreat

This is a real little gem. Great location, and all you have to bring is your food. Everything is supplied (incl linen if you want). Very homely feel to it and it was interesting to read the history of the family. Thanks for making it the ideal stay. Cheers. Catherine

Fantastic home away from home ! Very comfortable with everything you need including firewood. Peaceful and private with beautiful birdsong. Close to beach and shops. Amazing, hospitable owners. Will recommend to anyone I know looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

This is a comfortable place to stay, with cute 'retro' features (e.g. loved the yellow bench tops in the kitchen). The place was spotlessly clean and tidy, beds were comfy, and appliances and kitchen-ware all in good nick. The only downside was that the tap water was not safe to drink. This was a minor inconvenience and the owners had kindly provided a bottle of chilled boiled water in the fridge (thanks!). All in all, very good value for money.
