I don't like the idea of not having any staff on site, to talk to anyone you need to go to the kiosk and request to FaceTime a rep. This complicates s lot more than you'd think.
We did not end up staying bettee because the first room smelled so bad a raw sewage. All the pipe water traps had gone dry and sewer gasses had filled the room. We went to the kiosk to explain the problem, but because there are no people on site we had to wait 30-45 minutes for someone to walk to the property to check it out. She confirmed the issue and they moved us to another room, however, had not been and could not be cleaned (because therebis no on-site staff) and the air conditioner in this room was legit black from lack of service and the walls had mold on them because of this (I am an HVAC contractor, so i have experience in this matter). They did refund our money but that was a battle that took like 2 hours before they agreed and another week to get our money back.
Also, you have to pay for parking which we were never told until after we checked in. And getting in and out of the parking lot is very difficult due to blind traffic.

Communication from the host via hotels.com was unusable. At check in they photographed my DL (which I don’t care for) and required a large deposit be placed on my credit card or pay a smaller non-refundable amount up front. I don’t care for hidden charges.
Prior to checkout I received an email that stated that if not out by 11AM they would charge an additional substantial amount.
Their communication is couched in friendliness, but I didn’t get that impression in reality.

7/10 Good! (8 reviews)
"I’m greatly moved by the ecological mission and remote setting of this hotel, however one must really be close to nature to truly enjoy. I also believe the activities I partook in and food was overpriced."

10/10 Exceptional! (3 reviews)
Highly recommended - a very good deal.
"Africa Strike Lodge is a delight - very, very clean, helpful and friendly staff, good food, crystal clear swimming pool, and they gladly arrange bird watching or fishing in their own boats, with reliable guides, all for a very reasonable price. Everything works as it should, without loss of the West ..."
