I absolutely loved this property. It’s very small and quaint but the views of the volcano are amazing. I love the bathtub with the window looking at the volcano. The dirt road to drive there is a little sketchy being that I’m a woman by myself and did not have a four-wheel-drive, but I made it. There’s no food on the property, but there is a resort next-door that I walked to and it was great. It is advisable to get food or drinks on your way to the hotel, there isn’t much within a 20 minute or so drive. I would definitely stay here again!

This property is gorgeous, and the staff is fantastic. The free breakfast (which you can also do as room service) was such a nice perk - I will miss the daily fresh-squeezed starfruit juice. We had a fantastic couples massage. I loved that there were several little spaces on the property where you could hang out away from your room. It is a little off the beaten path, but walkable to all of the restaurants and shops. We had a great stay.

Wonderful accommodations in a stunning location.

We stayed for a week at the Umami Hotel and it was wonderful. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and offered helpful suggestions. We loved our time in Puerto Viejo and at this hotel. We ate breakfast at Umami everyday and they served good-size portions of high quality food. There are many great staff members at the hotel, but I’d like to specifically recognize Ramundo, Tony, and Rodney for making our stay extra special.
