Beware! The only property access is a STEEP 200 metre cowpath over tree roots would be dangerous in rain. There were no clear signs Had to drive on that to go back to Bacalar, 25 km. away. Or room was in a building across from the gated facilities on the beach. We were not allowed to use the beach chairs, kayaks etc. Nor was there any breakfast or coffee available for purchase. The person that let is us in did not explain the access to the beach facilities. Nor did she offer contact info in case we needed something. I think the offering on Expedia has to be re written to clarify what is being offered.

It such a quiet and peaceful place. Is so magical with a wonderful view of the sunrise. Kakay was available on the premises so you can kakay peacefully and enjoy the view.

Our stay here was ok. It is what you would expect for the price you pay here. The staff were friendly, but not super helpful. We asked for some drinking glasses as there were none provided in the room, and the staff were uncomfortably reluctant to give us the glasses, suggesting we drink from bottles only. There were no fridges in the rooms, so we instead needed to buy ice down the road to cool our bottles of wine in the sink. The restaurant looked ok, but found it a little bit strange that the only people seems to be using it was the staff themselves eating infront of all the guests, and celebrating what seemed to be a birthday. The rooms were clean, bed was comfortable. All in all an ok stay. Mahahual does have a seaweed problem at certain times of the year, which is unfortunate but can’t be helped.

Beautiful hotel with an amazing view, comfortable rooms. I just didn’t like the service specifically at the reception, poor customer service, lack of engagement, and misinformation about the tours.
